I thought the same thing. Either I'm reading too much into it or the writers did a great job and suggesting that point. Someone earlier mentioned how he didn't seem aggressive and swinging his arms or anything. I took that as him being familiar with Daryl and just recently turning, he still felt a connection.

Here's the real question...

Watch the Walking Dead season finale?

Or watch the Game of Thrones season 3 premiere??

Both are on at the same time Sunday night...what a dilemma!

I don't have DVR unfortunately. I'll probably have to watch Walking Dead first, HBO puts all their shows online right after live airing.

I'm on the West coast so TWD comes on at 6:00 on the high-def channel...I still DVR it, though. Hate sitting through commercials.

I thought maybe Walker-Merle had a moment of indecision when he spotted Daryl, too...but then his baser instincts took over. It would make sense since he was a freshie and might not have been 100% gone yet mentally. Or maybe he was just sluggish from gorging himself on the Woodbury buffet. lol

Worst writing yet....

Pretty sure I am done with the "poorly written soap opera dead".

Flashbangs in a dark hallway, yet they run right away. 1 man guns down 20 armed people, nobody does anything - except get in the truck with him.

Pathetic.

Loved the last episode. So many surprises! Is it October yet? I can't believe we have to wait that long for the next season... sigh

I'm a little letdown that the Governor is still around but I love how ruthless he is now.
Me thinks he'll get what's coming to him early next season.

I've had HBO free all week and tried to watch Game of Thrones but after about 15 minutes it just didn't grab me.

Couple guys at work were taking about GOT. Sent me some trailers. Dunno... Thinking not my thing.
BUT.... Zombi apocalypse was not either. I did not watch the first 2 seasons of WD. Thank goodness for Netflix.

Strangely, I actually wanted Andrea to escape and live, hoping that now she's finally learned her lesson. No doubt she was a great fighter, but baaaad judge of character.

After watching it again. Hershel says "Drop the weapon son".
He never drops it, instead he hold it out and points it off to the right of Carl.
If it were me in that situation, I would've dropped it immediately, but then again, Carl is so trigger happy that it wouldn't have mattered.
Carl made some good points when talking to his dad about it.

YJ, when Ricks group finds the vehicles abandoned you see YJ doors for about 1/2 a second.

He also said "here take it" when he was told to drop it. Carl shot him instead. (I probably would've too, but Carl also seems to have misguided resentment for the bused in woodyburyians, who did not come to his home armed).

I agree. And the way he dropped the badge too.
And although Carl had his reasons, I think Rick needs to put his little butt in check.

That kid is gona to be mentally F'd in a few years, lol. Yes there were reasons but that was obviously a cold blood killing. The boy he shot was probably 16, and was scared. Most of that group that attacked only did it because the Gov is crazy and lied to them and got them fired up. They obviously didn't want to be there which is why he shot them all. Carl needs to learn the being a man part to killing, and being responsible. He's got a lot of hatred and resentment from the whole situation plus his mom etc. It's just a matter of time before he does something even worse still.

Bulletheads thoughts...

Overall thought, yet another let down. All season we are building up for Woodbury vs Prison battle. The Gov gets a cavalry of National Guard weapons and vehicles dropped to him and Rick finds Morgan who has just the same amount of weapons. So the set up is there. What happens?
Two flash bangs, sirens, and red flashing lights causes EVERYONE to tuck tail and run. Maggie and Glen can't hit a damn thing with tons of people running right infront of them. And the people running have the nerve to call that a slaughter? Did anyone even die in there?
End epic battle we waited all season for...woo hoo.

Now other thoughts;
  • Governor still alive, he may be irrelevant for many episodes as he is on the run and weak. But interesting to see him still in play.
  • Governor killing everyone, def did not see that coming, what a nut. Why no one shot him is beyond me. (How awkward was riding shotgun with him after that??)
  • Andrea, how long does it take to lift a damn wrench, I guess quite a while when you keep stopping to ask Milton how he's feeling.
  • Carl did the right thing dropping that kid, Hershel told him 'drop it' and the kid tried to hand it over, the boy could have tried a number of things but one of them clearly wasn't 'dropping it'. So right move by Carl.
  • Carl then proceeded to 'drop' some knowledge on Rick and channel his inner Shane, much respect for that lil annoying POS.
  • Michonne and Rick about to start a love story so look for Glenn or Maggie to die soon. Only room for 1 love story arc.
Interested to see the next season. All the magazine readers are probably tossed through a loop right now, as Andrea is still alive for many magazines to come from where we are currently.

My lady brought up a good question that I just could not answer, perhaps you all may have a better response.

On Andrea's wound...If everyone is already infected, unless the wound is a mortal one, what does it really matter if you are bit by a walker? Who's to say it won't heal up and you can go about your business?

I THINK the preimse is that once you are bitten, the infection (of dead flesh biting, not the "walker diasese") causes septic shock. If a dead guy bit you like that you would very likely die from a serious infection, though it wouldn't be quite so immediate. It would be like swimming in a septic tank with lacerations all over, not a good plan.

With Andrea, bleeding out would have also been a very real concern due to the location & depth of the wound.

But IDK for sure.

^^ this.. Think about when Jimbo got bit in the first season at the camp on the hill side. He got a bite in the ribs and it still managed to kill/turn him.. Although that was quite a long period of time, but Andreas bite was right on the jugular..

I do remember from somewhere near the beginning they said that once it gets into your bloodstream it just burns you out..

She had the fever aka she was already turning/dying was my impression. I agree the infection from a zombie mouth will kill you eventually unless you get the bite area amputated (Hershel).

I see. This instance just seemed to be the perfect chance for someone to survive a bite. Miltion had just turned so the chances of him having various diseases would be slim as he hasn't bit decaying flesh or anything yet.

I do recall the bite to the ribs and the slow turning process. I just wasn't sure how to relate it. I mean do zombies have venom I do not know about? If it was a blood transfer thing that accelerates the transformation I can see that. Perhaps Milton was coughing up blood and the bite then transferred that blood into Andrea's stream.

Sort of like how people can be HIV+ but not have AIDs. It just takes something to activate it.
