The weirdest thing in your grill?

Today I found this HUGE moth in my grill. I'm glad this didn't hit my while I was on my bike, I would have given me a concussion!

Wasn't in the grill, but on vacation last week I pulled a whole, completely dried, dragonfly out of the tie straps holding the kayak to the roofrack. The body was 4 1/2" and the wingspan was almost 6".

Eww. Can you imagine what it would have been like getting hit in the face with one of those things? Do you wear a faceplate on your helmet?

I wear one. I got hit in the throat by a beetle once at 60mph. I had to stop cause I couldn't breath.

Yes I can, I got hit in the eye while wearing sunglasses by a huge grasshopper, knocked the lens out, gave me a black eye and splattered all over my face. I like full face helmets now.

I knew a guy that was wearing goggles but got hit in the face by a bird. Almost lost his eye, but he was fortunate. Swollen shut for days tho.

yeah i do. i wear a modular (flip up style) helmet. real fun on a spring night when the firefly's are bad...looks like star wars

a riding buddie of mine got a ladybug up his nose once he wears a old school style open face with a visor. he said he seen it hovering in the air, then it went over his windshield and under his visor. i seen him pull over and then BOTH of our eyes was watering...his from pain and mine from laughing so hard

We don't have fireflies out here. First time I took a load back east I about freaked out, I was flying down this little 2 lane in Indiana when all of a sudden I start getting little florescent green explosions all over my windshield

I don't know if I've told this story on this forum before, but if anyone's a member of the R1-Forum then they already know it's legendary. I used to live in Key Largo, the first island in the Florida Keys. Every Thursday night was bike-night at Fuddrucker's in Miami. I had spent a couple of hours detailing the R1 for the show and was heading up to the mainland with a handful of my riding buddies from the islands. About halfway there, an ARMADILLO ran out into the road and I didn't even have time to swerve. That thing literally EXPLODED when I hit it. I had 'Dillo guts all over my bike and both my legs, and the rider behind me got some guts too......across the front of his bike and all over his helmet. I was so pissed off, but had my heart set on going to bike-night.....so we continued on. Turns out, my bike was the "hit" of the show. Everyone wanted to know what happened. Made for a great story, but was a super pain to clean off the next day. Even though I disassembled the bike to clean it off, I still had burning 'Dillo gut smell when the motor came up to temp for at least 2 weeks after the incident. That's the best of my fauna impact motorcycle stories, though in 27 years of riding I've hit about everything a person could hit........
