Too bad for the little kid. Another bad thing is that several passerby called 911... but did not get out to help themselves?

Very hard to get a concealed carry permit in CA. But you don't need a gun to stop someone from beating a toddler. I hope that if I were to come across that, I would have the courage to physically stop the guy, using my fists and boots if necessary.

Thats a tragic story for the child.

But the cop thing. There are many good cops, majority are great police officers and live lives just like you and me. Someone has to be an enforcer of laws, but some are corrupt and those are the ones that make the news! Which sucks for us future and current LEO's.

I remember learning in college studying Criminal Justice that statistically the more people that witness a crime the less likely it is to get reported quickly. Everybody assumes that somebody else is calling the police.
