I had a jeep park next to me today... So I said "Hello" and he ignored me! Ugh! Why would he park next to me if he had no intentions of being nice!??

Work.

Jacka**'s who think its ok to text while driving especially around motorcyclists or big rigs or really anyone who doesn't have the common sense to know how to drive around motorcyclists or truckers.

Oh yeah and that no two parties in our society can ever reach a reasonable middle ground in a dispute weather it's gun rights or anything. It always has to be far right and far left.

That's what I hate

I hate that so much research and so many resources have been dedicated to things like hair implants, plastic surgery, "revitalizing serums" and other genetic "problems" that are STRICTLY vanity things when those resources could be dedicated to REAL problems like life threatening diseases such as HIV and cancer (just the first two that come to mind)...

... And that everyone thinks/wants a pill will/to solve their problems...

I mean seriously....

Our medical theories and practices are vastly antiquated. There's new research coming out left and right that has been blowing a ton of stuff outta the water.
If I remember correctly, Bee venom kills HIV.

I currently work in Cancer care and spent many years before that working in Cardiology, involved in research in both arenas. Together the two diseases account for more than two-thirds of the illness in the U.S. Our practice focuses on evidence-based medicine. We see a lot of people come to us in end-stage disease after going down the alternative medicine path. I've seen them try extracts from peach pits, vitamin E, chelation therapy, etc. And I've also seen people fail with the western medicine approach. Even though I work in the field, I do not consider myself a big advocate for western medicine in terms of maintaining your health. It is more 'disease care' than 'health care'. My own experience with chiropractic has been amazing, and I feel that it has improved my overall health tremendously. On the other hand, I've seen more cures to cancer through the western approach than through any other. I wish there was one magic pill that would take care of everything, but there isn't (I personally think the closest you can get to a magic pill is eating lots of fruits and veggies, getting exercise, and maintaining a positive attitude). When it comes to research, the one thing I've learned in medicine over the years is: read the literature and examine the evidence. There is a lot of bad information out there. Just my two cents.

Of course reading and analyzing is necessary.
What I am referring to primarily is to the research about what is good for you.
For instance they tout whole grains as good and animal fat as bad. When in fact, fat is good for you. It gives you the energy to do work(think of Hunter Gatherer times). Funny thing is, whole grains/wheat isn't all that good.. Most humans have a reaction(negative) to said grains.
Also, another thing that I find funny. "Yolks are bad for you." Yet all the nutrients is in the yolk, along with Choline(protects your eyes).

Since I have completely eliminated things like Whole Wheat bread I have felt a ton better.
I basically eat Meat, and certain vegetables... I avoid tomatoes because, honestly, I cannot stand them.
Ohh and my biggest problem with Docs is this.
"Protein is bad for you. If you have too much you get scurvy." Haha total utter lunacy. That was blown out of the water back in the 1930s....

At age 23 I was diagnosed and began treatment for cancer and now at age 24 I have it on the ropes. I've had MANY relatives die of cancer and I've known many people who have had or died of cancer... I understand that research IS being done into these fields - but what p!sses me off is when I see ads and research articles for various vanity or "beauty" solutions where countless doctors have put YEARS into research just for that. Just think if all of the great medical minds pit their hearts and souls into the REAL problems - where we could be... I guess that's where I was going with my original post - not meaning to discredit those who are already putting their hearts and soles into working on the more serious issues...

Good for you, Keymo! Keep up the good fight! I'll tell you what gets my goat: seeing how much time, effort and money Americans put into the so-called reality entertainment industry. Reality TV, celebrity gossip magazines, celebrity news shows, etc. Most of it is either cruel or glorifies someone for being an idiot, and we spend billions of dollars and millions of man-hours engrossed in it.

Lol, Mack, I agree! but it still doesn't seem to stop me from chiming in now and then, except the regret threads. Those are a real killjoy. I think my only post to one of those was something like "I regret having ever come across this thread".

X2... Reality TV and the Demi-God status of celebrities shows just how society has de-evolved if that is an appropriate term.

Eggs are awesome, absolutely love them. Want to raise some goats and chickens when I get older... Why goats? So I don't need a mower and they also taste good....
Get some steak... Grind it up. Then use egg to hold the meat together. Put in various spices and voila you have a steak burger... Or just pound the steak.
Lamb is also extremely delicious when done properly.

When I walked into my office hoping for an easy day before a long weekend and find a busted water line pouring water out. Then spend the next two hours with a shop vac.

I know your pain. four months ago we had a little plastic fitting on a 1/4 inch pipe fail overnight and came into our office the next morning to find about 5,000sf of newly renovated space ruined. Over $50,000 in damages. Couldn't believe that much water came out of that little pipe.
