This is a mystery

Here is a pic' Jeff took last weekend, we have been trying to guess what happened, what do you all think? the rock is probly' about 6' long & 3 ' thick. It kind of looks like it was dumped & slid across the ground flopped over & then the dirt under it eroded away over time. There is a few of them in just this one area & also some like the last pic'

Mother nature can do some curious things.

Or it's the aliens.

That last one is pretty amazing. I say aliens (the UFO type) did it just to mess with our heads.

Some rocks are made up of harder material than others. Like Uranus says, glaciers can pick up and move huge rocks far from where they originated from and set them down on ground that washes away and gets blown away from the thousands of years of wind and rain and anything else Ma Nature throws at them. What you can end up with is this strange rock in a very strange position. Nature is very intriguing.

Those are some really cool pics Julie! I'm not even gonna begin to think about what caused them, but I will enjoy them instead.

mystery?

some would say it was part of some alien thingy, "shelf for jet back pack?" others would say placed there by a glacier during last ice age and others might say it ended up there when that part of the world was covered by ocean. the only thing i can say , and i'm about 99% sure, it wasn't aliens.

This reminds me of the "racetrack" in death valley and how people are still trying to figure out what makes it...There are many theories but I am not sure it has been figured out.
