Tire shoppers, please step inside

In all my years of owning various sports cars, SUVs, and now a Jeep, one thing I've noticed is that MANY car enthusiasts are also gun owners and gun enthusiasts, and almost all of them value freedom and their inalienable rights. Every now and again, the two interests intersect. I'd like to bring one of those times to your attention.

Goodyear has recently decided to make all of its stores "gun free zones". These policies do little except create "soft targets" for criminals who could care less about a businesses policies.

If you are a gun owner and lawful carry of a firearm is legal where you live, I encourage you to drop Goodyear a polite note to let them know of your displeasure with this policy. I myself will no longer be considering Goodyear tires for any of my vehicles until they decide to reverse this policy.

I also encourage you to spread the word to your friends and family and have them contact Goodyear as well. The only way to reverse anti-freedom policies like this is to let the business know that their policies are costing them business.

https://www.goodyear.com/en-US/company/contact-us#

Mods, please move this to a more appropriate area if I picked the wrong sub-forum to post in.

Thanks.

This is old news and there is no data to support that the motivating factor of someone picking a target location for gun violence is due to an area being gun free.

Good luck with your boycott.

It's not about criminals choosing gun-free zones, it's about about the innocent people who are in the wrong place at the wrong time having the ability to defend themselves. I never said gun free zones attract criminals (although I would point out that in the last decade, almost all of the mass shootings have occurred in gun-free zones).

But thanks.

It's a silly policy, and I believe it's just for some cheap attention grabbing. How do they know I'm carrying? I'm not gonna blurt it out. Okay, they've declared themselves a "gun free zone." Using this logic, does it make them a zone for rape, prostitution, or assault unless they declare it? Shit will happen regardless of what some marketing dept decides

This is the off topic area, is it not? there are several gun related threads here. If you don't like it, don't participate. Us gun owners value our freedom to choose as well as yours. Unfortunately most of those against guns feel it is their right to make such decisions for others.

If you went into Goodyear to make a substantial purchase while carrying. If they noticed they probably would not say anything. Money talks. But I understand the big picture. Only way to find out is if someone does it and posts the results.

Yeah, I hadn't noticed the off-topic section before or I would have put it here to start with. Mods moved it for me.

Every day I go into the school where I work, and pass the no-gun sticker. Hope the bad guys follow the rules. Wish I could conceal carry there.

What does this really mean? If you are carrying any of this stuff leave in the bin before you enter the door?

Ill carry in gun free zones if I choose ,but concealed of coarse.Ive even had police officers who have told me that if its concealed, and your not dumb about it you wont have an issue.
Id also like to point out that the OP in his first post asked it to be moved if its not in the correct place.

AND criminals love gun free zones. It makes it soo much easier for them. All these dumb laws do is help criminals.oh no thats right, its a gun free zone.Thugs cant bring guns into gun free zones...yeeahh,right.

Ahh well, obviously there was no way of me knowing that. Usually the mods make a note that it was moved which would have prevented my comment.
