I hold up my badge so they can see it and slowly shake my head side to side as saying; "You really shouldn't do that again".

That's if I'm at least doing the speed limit of course.

They usually slow down and back away from my bumper after that.

AAA batteries get their attention nicely as well but I also found that cleaning my windshield for a slightly extended period will also get them to back off. If they get real close flip on your lights which will illuminate your tail lamps and often get them to stand on the brakes as you keep on truckin

Depending on the road, I swing to the right and hope the debris on the shoulder will pepper their windshield. I learned this from the 18 wheelers who are much wiser than I am.
