I have not been keeping up with it this year, but I watched it the other night, I love riding, but those packs are scarey when they start pumping hard!

I rode competitively way back in the 80's. Rode about 300 miles per week, until some a-hole in a camper rear-ended me at a stop light. 1200 dollars to repair, I had to junk it.

No one will will. Someone will win, but they will not have a will, after they have given there all.

i haven't been following this year. just off the top of my head, is this gonna be jan ullrich's year?

as an aside, it drives me crazy that the sport is so damn riddled with performance enhancing drugs. i root for lance armstrong but i wonder if he doped up too.

Guilty, as charged. I hope to find something endearing, or challenging, in a thread. When I see that it is led with a mute question, I am sorely disappointed. Be that as it may, I know that is my problem, and no one elses.

I haven't been watching. Seems like no one can win anymore without there being a doping scandel. I used to ride but got away from it. Not thin enought to be competative, and I refuse to shave my legs.

Ullrich is out of the sport..just about (if not all) of those involved in last years doping scandle are out of the sport...

Levi and vinny are this years favorites....it really has been a great race so far this year. The Discovery team is looking good.

Lance was the most tested athlete in the history of sports and has never, I repeat, never failed a test.....he was the man!!

Having ridden in the past and trying to work myself back into shape to ride more competativly again, those big packs (peleton) are a lot of fun to ride in when it all starts. Everyone is talking and jokeing and getting loosened up. Then they get going faster and if one person makes a mistake or gets a little anxious it can get very interesting in a hurry.

I'm a Lance fan too. Can't seem to manage his family life, but I don't know all the details.

I've only ridden a couple times in a big group and it was fun. A little spooky if your going fast but fun. I know there are ladies here but I have to share this story...I was riding with a small group (about 10 riders). we had a good pace line going, I mean fast. We went ten miles before I knew it as the female rider in front of me had shorts thet were see-through in the sun. If she hadn't of checked up and I almost wiped out, I would have went the whole 50 miles we did and never known it. Fun ride.

(I got punched in the face while I was sparring one time because I was watching the firemen across the street; we're not immune to those sorts of distractions)
