2 of our 3 shelter babies. You can see part of the other one over to the left.

These two are great trail dogs.
Cute pups. They look very happy.

This is a rescue STANDARD POODLE. He is 4 now and 21/2 when we got him. We have had POODLES for 37 YEARS. They are smart and don't shed. BARNEY went through the 90 day inmate program at GRAFTON CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. He goes 92 pounds.

He's like a baby though after abt 15 mins of driving he falls asleep in his seat! Hahah but he enjoys trail riding he howls when we trail ride

I've had yellow labs for 25yrs, so I can recommend the breed, but I 100% agree that a shelter dog is always a good bet...had many over the years and they are as loyal as the day is long...that being said, all breeds crave attention and interaction, treat your new buddy like a buddy, take the dog with you everywhere you can, I've seen too many dogs brought home and then either tied outside or left in the garage with little human contact, after the novelty has worn off....this is a long commitment and you will enjoy your new buddy if you make him/her your best friend.

Here's my best buddy....

Here's the shelter pup that my daughter saved...

That's funny that both of you have had Goldens that get car sick -- My last golden was my parents dog about 20 years ago. They paid me to take her to obedience training and she would always puke on my back seat!

So I figured I would just put a sheet down in the back to make it easier to clean up. Sure enough, she pushed the sheet aside so she would puke on the seat. I guess she didn't like obedience training.

That's funny. I figured mine would out grow it but hes almost 2 and a half years old and still pukes on long car rides.

Cute! I recently got a female chocolate lab pup she is almost 4 weeks so I can't bring her mom yet. When I have my jeep, I hope that she will like riding with me! Oh and her name is Cabela btw

We ride with Daisy. She's a year old Bassett. She's been riding in Jeeps (mine & my son's) from the day we brought her home. She loves it!
