Wanna move, need southerners advice

give me some info please. i'm sick of the chicago suburbs. wanna move south, thinking tennessee. property is cheaper, i want an acre or two, with some buildings and such.

any first hand info on areas and anything in general, would be great. i can't be to rural cuz i need to make money still, but i don't want to be in a subdivision, or have people all around me. but for what i own here, it looks like i can buy a couple acres, a house w/ an attached garage, and a shop out back. i wouldn't be ready to move for a few years, but i wanna get an idea of where to look.

thanks.

Southern cali

You can live somewhat out away from everybody and have a acre or 2!

The outter parts of the area are not go go go. The price is the same as here. Wheeling is free too . Life is never simple. Wish it was.

Come on down to North Charleston, SC. So many murders, they always need replacements. No rebel flags though, automatic racist label. Wouldn't want you to get started on the wrong foot.

I was stationed in North Charelston. It really doesnt seem like that bad of a place.

But anyways, Look in the Tri-cities area in TN. I loved it down there when my dad had his small cattle farm.

Arkansas is nice!! i lived in the mountains there .. lived there for 18 yrs.

When my better half and I are ready to move, we are off to Montana I wanted to go to CO, but the stupid Californian rich folks started buying up a butt ton of vacation properties there and are ruining the state

Montana wouldn't be for you than, at least not the more populated areas. You can do a quick google search for Montana Climate (or more specifically, the larger cities like Billings) to see for yourself. They get a good bit of snow, and the climate is certainly cooler than here in Central MD, but that is what I wanted. I am not a warm weather person We have spring/fall/summer/winter here in MD, and summer is by far my least favorite season. Something about sweating my nuts off just by walking outside is a big turn off to me I want somewhere that is a high of 80 on a bad day, and stays above like 10 degrees in winter. Enter Montana

Thats kinda like TN. What info were you looking for? I belive my dad lived in Johnson City. It had all the ammenidies you would nee close by, but then a few minutes down the highway and your in the country. It is starting to get built up though. I also remember there was an awesome marina nearby and the tri-cities airport if that helps give you a location. He got a few inches in the winter time, but it was amazing weather.
