Was approached for a tattoo...

i was in a local tattoo place in the area, i had recently gotten a haircut (1/4in. all over) so you can see the indentations in my head. well, one of the tattoo artists there, was amazed with my head "texture" and was practically begging to tattoo it to make it look like a brain if i shaved my head...(the 3 other artists agreed) and offered me a decently low price (because its something he wants to do)

i rolled the idea to using UV* active ink... which they loved even more

the question is, what do you think?

(lookin for an honest opinion as i'm well aware that its my body and my decision)

* UV ink is invisible until put under a black light... then it glows

How "bald" are you and how dark is your hair?

I would read into that ink a little more. I think I read something in a tattoo mag that had some negatives about it. Dont hold me to that though. I dont remember what it said.

Besides that, its your body, if you like the idea and think you could live with the new ink on your head for the rest of your life....go for it

It's a strong step. I'm all for tats and have several myself, but damn gettin the dome tatted would be crazy. Of course if your family has good hair genes then that would make it easier.

I can think of a lot of places to tattoo besides my head.

Could you imagine going bald 40 years down the road and your grandkids asking why your brain is on the outside of your head? Haha, awesome go for it.

Its nothing I would ever do, although it does sounds cool. I vote do it. If you ever decide you dont like it you can let your hair grow out, or never go in the dark.

the UV ink is invisible until you shine a blacklight on it... so technically, noone will see it at all unless i go to the club or something...

that is what i what i was thinking. it seems like that tatoo would only be seen when you want it to be seen. if you don't want people to see your brain then stay away from black lights. idk, it sounds like a really cool idea. i'd vote yes, but only w/ the UV ink.

I say read up about the UV ink (I have read some things about them as well, but can't remember either, and they may have fixed it) and do it. I would only do it with UV though, in case you go bald and like having a good job. Things are turning around, sure, but if the US changes social directions in 30 years and tattoos go taboo again, you'll be kinda SOL with a brain on your head unless you just do UV ink.

A friend of mine has a full sleeve tribal tat and finally got hired on to a police dept. Catch is he has to wear a flesh colored stocking over the tattoo when in short sleeves - kind of like an under armour material over the whole arm. It will no doubt get pretty hot on 90* days.

if that happens hopefully he won't be working for a company that makes black lights.

Heh, that was my point. Just do it in the UV, unless you don't really care or don't think the US is going to turn back that way. I am all for tats, as long as you can cover them if necessary. I am also one for people minding their own business, and judging someone on their personality and word, but that doesn't mean the rest of the country feels that way, including employers

I'm thinking you should go for it. That way you'll at least have a picture of a brain!
