Wasted life, You may see less of me.

I was sitting here looking out the window and started to do some soul searching. How many mistakes we make over the years and how much of our lives are wasted from those mistakes. If I sit here and veg on the net for 10 minutes. I will never get that 10 minutes back, no matter what I do. What happens if I walk out the front door and get hit by a train (I work in a rail yard and have seen and had to help clean up some gruesome things here). Time is to valuable to be wasted sitting in a chair rotting from the inside out. To all that may miss me I will be back periodically to help when I can and of coarse sling my opinion like its fact. To those that dislike me. Get your happy dance on because you can kiss my big hairy butt.

Hope to see some of you on the trails some day.
Happy jeeping

Never search your soul when staring at a computer screen. Go stand on the top of a mountain and search it. Don't search for squandered time and what you ought to have done, search for all the things you did and then set you sights on adding more to the list. And last, never ever say goodbye to friends.

I can sympathize with you. Sometimes it's best to take a break from the internet and forum for awhile. I hope a break is all you need and you'll be back though. I've always enjoyed your posts and your insight.

In all seriousness...Do you think you may be going through a mid life? (Don't know how old you are). FYI been there done that!

I ask because I really doubt you just started thinking about this and my guess there is more to this.

Or if one was so incredibly inflicted with self doubt and wanted to make changes in ones life right then why would one then come on said internet site that one said he was wasting his life on and tell everyone else about this and that he was going to be gone? Why not just not be online anymore? Becuase now he's going to be logging on to see what people are saying about his epihany which is really defeating the purpose of the whole thread in the first place.

i agree with Odhinn. If i spent half as much time on the trails as i do in here talking about doing it, I would prolly be a lot less stressed out.

excellent point...but where would one turn to if so much of one's lfe was spent here on line and has no-one to turn to? Maybe you all one's only friends!!!!

No midlife crisis, no booze, No I'm not dieing, and not manically depressed. Just tired of web wheeling, have noticed some things that need attention and heading back to the real world to take care of business and my family (the most important thing in the world to me). As far as stating it here. It is because I consider most of you freinds and didn't want to just disappear from the face of the earth. To PM everyone I consider a friend would be a pain. Like I said I will stop in periodically and anyone can PM me for my email address but won't be hanging out here for hours.

1BLkJP no worries bro. NO insult to the forum ment. This is by far the most civilized jeep site on the web. My realization just came when I was vegging on the site doing absolutely nothing productive for about 3 hours.

Tiny...my soul searching was to do with what career path I chose and the one I gave up on because I went for the quick easy money. No college needed for the quick money but a very annoying glass ceiling in the end. After OC is finished with her school I was thinking of going back full time instead of part time to finish a DR. degree in Veterinarian Medicine (Dream I had as A kid).

Just to ease all that I have wheeled with, The trails will always see me, OC, and the Mule. No Worries

Well Odhinn, at least you came to your epiphany at work and not rocking back and forth on your bed, naked in a cold sweat with a 9mm in your mouth like I did! So, good on ya!

And now for my 2 cups of Zen....

*Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either. Just leave me the hell alone.
*The journey of a thousand miles begins with a broken fan belt and a leaky tire.
*It's always darkest before dawn. So if you're going to steal your neighbor's newspaper, that's the time to do it.
*It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
*If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of car payments.
*Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
*If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
*Don't squat with your spurs on.
*If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
*If you drink, don't park. Accidents cause people.

Cain,

Thanks for the Christmas morning laugh.

Odhinn, Sorry for being intrusive. When I went through my rough time i.e. so-called mid-life...I had nobody to turn to and I am just much more sensitive to those who might be heading in that direction and have compassion for those who are the throes of it.

Odhinn, nothing wrong with searching one's soul for purpose, and some sense to our lives. One thing I have learned is that we impact a lot of people, as you have, on this site, and in life. A certain amount of closeness evolves, the more we participate. My work has kept me very busy for the past 1/2 year, and it has almost hurt to not be able to participate as much as I used too, on here. Putting it all into perspective, your participation has brought different points of view, and has been very valuable on here. You have a very unique way of looking at things, without it bothering you. Just know that no man is an island, and that it takes all of us, to make the world go around. I for one, will miss you, if you decide to halt your participation on here. Just know that whatever you feel is the right thing to do, can only be decided by you. You could always continue to participate, but perhaps limit yourself, to the time spent on here. Just a thought........... Peace Bro.

I'm on here mostly during work hours. If my job changes I'll probably be on here less but other than that... party on Wayne.

Life is made up of moments. There are good ones and bad ones. Those you took pleasure in, or spent giving some happiness to someone else, or learned something from, are never wasted.

If you enjoyed the time you spent on the board, it was time well spent. Maybe you could have been doing something more productive, but would it have made you happier? I wonder.... The time I spend wheelin' is considered by some to be wasted. I've accomplished nothing and I've spent a lot of money on gas. I've also neglected things I should have done. Is it really wasted time? No, it helps me to maintain my sanity. It makes me feel good and I can't think of a better way to spend my time.

In my opinion, a wasted life is one that is spent dwelling on the past, worrying about the time you spent doing one thing instead of doing something else. I think the Eagles said it best:

.... And I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind from wondrin’ what I left behind
and from worrying ’bout this wasted time....
