Watched "Lost" ? Your interpretation?

OK, I know it's an older show , but I have watched it twice now all seasons and episodes. What do you think the island was? What is your interpretation of it in general?

The island was a link to other worlds and Dharma was trying to harness the power to control the island.
My interpretation - It confused the hell out me most of the time, but I enjoyed it.

My favorite line... Charlie, you're gonna die.

I think it represented a great waste of time.
LOL!

I thought the show was good for a few seasons, but then it got kind of ridiculous... As if the writers were just making stuff up every week (which I think was true).
My wife has the DVD sets and it holds my interest until around the middle of season 3 maybe.
Did they jump over a shark in that season?

The show definitely has a lot of "oh, come on!" moments.
(Like the impossible physics that lead to Charlie's destiny)

I think my favorite moments are the nicknames Sawyer gave everybody.

I didn't watch the last couple seasons, but I remember reading online that everyone was dead and the island was purgatory.

It started out good but then the writers got lost along the way. The ending was one of the all time worst.

Kind of how Sons of Anarchy is now?

I liked it. Although it was frustrating to watch sometimes..... I kept coming back for more every week.

The show got horrible in the middle because of the writers strike. I too, was in love with it until about season 3-4. When the island started moving, I lost interest. I still watched until the end, but it wasn't the same as the first 3 seasons.

I can see how some could think this, but there are some episodes that would disprove this and the scene showing that they were all dead it still showed the huts and stuff that they built witch makes no since. It does seem that the primary objective was to keep the viewer absolutely "Lost" lol.

I would like to think that everything was just for face value and it was just a magical place like the garden of Eden... Eventually becoming an Atlantis and then becoming the island as it is in the show.
