We all wanted one...

Well about a month or two ago, me and the family was wondering around wally-world and was going true the bicycle isle because my daughter needed a new tube for her bike tire. What caught her twinkling little eyes was the...guess what.... the power wheels.

She told us that she wanted a jeep one like daddy's. So just playing along I asked here if she likes the pink barbie one. She scrunched her eyebrows together frustratedly and spouted out "NO I don't want a pink one, pink is for girls, I like the blue one. The blue one is cool ". <--- direct quote from a 3yr old girl.

Myself and the wife just laughed a little at the comment and went on our way to finish shopping. Thinking nothing more about it.

I got to thinking about that moment the other day and realized " We All Wanted One as a Kid". And like a lot of other people my parents could not afford one when I was a little munchin. Every parent wants to give their kids what they didn't have. So with that thought, I went and picked up the Blue power wheels jeep today. (you know the "cooler" one)

I put it together when I got off of work tonight and it's sitting in the garage. I also put a little something on the hood.

PIC's......

It will be sitting beneath the christmas tree for her on christmas morning.
I don't get to spend alot of time with my little girl and have missed half of her life due to deployments. She will be 4 this febuary and shortly after her birthday I will be leaving for another year to Iraq. I do cherish the time I get to spend with her and want to give her what I didn't have as a kid. I know it's a toy but I hope it gives us something more to bond with. As she loves to do what daddy does.

Plus.... We all wanted one as a kid.

Absolutely. I have that very one sitting at my house right now. My God Son is getting it for his 2nd Birthday this year and his dad wanted us to trick it out a little for him. So it's getting stickered up as well. We wanted to comp cut and flat fender it like mine, but his wife nixed that idea.

Forget the kids.

I want one of those.

Is it big enough to take to the golf course?

Then add some lift and larger tires. Maybe some e-lockers. Do you get a mid-tour on your deployment?

I was looking at that stuff online. It's pretty cool, but the wifey says no.

The wife asked me if I was going to make it bigger. And said it was ok to change to rubber tires instead of the hard plastic ones it has on it.

And no mid-tour for me. I'll let you know what I'm doing on GOV email.

I got that one 2 years ago for my brothers boy. It has the cart/wagon that hooks to the back of it. He has a great time pedaling that little tractor around the farm with rocks and junk in the wagon

My wife and I bought our 3 year old daughter one this past summer. Yeah, she wanted the pink one but we left off the Barbie stickers. It's customized with WF, RE and soem Quadratec stickers.

Talk about fun...

Hell, my Godmother bought me a GI Joe doll (back in the early 70's) and my mother tossed it in the garbage. Talk about a repressed childhood. The damn doll is worht some serious cash today.
