No problem. I like your thread. Ever notice how many more "views" versus "posts" you have? That just means the "old folks" are checking you out...

Gaa... They are like locusts. one leaves, another shows up.

Oh, wait... they're teenagers. My wife and I have had 12 over the years.

I've been afraid to walk naked in my own house since I can't remember.

Which is the original point of this thread. No memory.

Older yes-but I am really starting to enjoy:

1. The look on the cops face when he pulls over an old man in a Jeep at night-and asks "where are you coming from?" "or kinda late to be out isn't it?" Thinking he is gonna get some kid for minor consumption or some other illegal thing. And "the reason I stopped you is the brightness of your lights" to which I respond "Manufactured by KC to be factory replacement." Have been sent on my way with an apology every time---after they verify legal license, registration, and insurance.

2. The smiles I get from the younger Jeep girls when we wave at each other.

3. The option to be able to "just go" and not have to worry about house, kids, and everything else.

4. The knowledge that I have done most of the "hard work" I will have to do in my life before retirement.

Things that at the same time bother me---please see above.

1. Don't drink or do anything anymore-always worrying about "getting caught" and the expenses that go with that. Possible ill effects at work- "he is too old for that type of behavior/ do we want a person of that character to work here?"

2. The younger waves seem like they are coming from my daughters or granddaughters friends-and kinda hurt the "ego" of an old man.

3. The option of just being able to "just go"- still miss the time with the kids/regret working as much as I did when kids were young didn't spend enough time with them. And they are all around the country now- CA, CO, TX, and they have their schedules time and plans. Like I was they are--too busy.

4. The knowledge that I have done most of the "hard work" I will do in my life before retirement. SO does that mean I am old? There is so much I want to do and see and experience yet-but NONE OF US know how much time we have left.

5. Missing the ones who are "gone" and that I can't talk to, but had a huge effect on my life, whether they knew/know it or not.

Yeah I guess I am old-but not done yet.

Oh a Willy's? First Jeep I ever drove-technically a flat fender military issue.
