I have one, although I already posted this in the Weird/Creepy/Strange Things Seen on the Trail thread
This didn’t happen to me but a former boss related this experience to us. He’s the type who might kid around with people but he would always eventually tell you if he was making something up. He swore that it is true.
He said that when he and his wife moved into their first house it was an older home in a small community. One of the unusual things he first noticed was that his bedside alarm clock would shut the alarm off, causing him to sometimes be late for work. He would make sure that the alarm was set each night but it would occasionally still be off by morning. He says it would do this randomly and not often enough to motivate him to replace the clock. He said that moving the clock across the room, away from the bed, didn’t seem to matter.
One day as he was getting dressed he says he felt like there was someone else in the room. He turned quickly and for a millisecond he thought he saw a figure standing there in a long coat, the type worn in the Civil War era. After doing a little research he learned that the area where the house was located was near an old Civil War cemetery.
He said that other strange things would happen in the house such as items moved around while he and his wife were away. They agreed to not talk about them while they were home but that they would make a casual nod or glance over to whatever it was that was out of place to let the other person know.
One day, while he was home alone, he finally got fed up with it and could no longer keep quiet. He says he was in the bedroom and yelled out loud, “If you are real, prove it!”. He said that a big, heavy rocking chair in another room suddenly flipped over.
The strange events kept happening. He eventually said something like, “OK, I believe that you exist”. The events decreased after that but never completely stopped.
I would not have spent another night in there after the rocking chair incident.
