Wf

I came to WF because I love my JEEP. I am 44 years old. I also belong to a 4x4 Ranger website, because that is my other vehicle (they are pretty nice, too). I hang out here because of the people, I believe we have a sort of family here, and it hurts me when we have this sh*t going on. I don't want my family to be hurt, or to be involved with the kind of crap that has been going on lately. I thank the administrators for having this forum, but, I had to take the day off, because, I got enough crap to deal with at home and at work. I love WF, but I am getting tired of the fights, and the bad language. I know that I am no angel, and I think inuendo is hilarious. I just don't want this place to become another cesspit, like so many other, well meaning, places. I am not talking about "teasing" or "inuendo", or even ! But when people start dropping the "F" bomb, heck, I even say sh*t! WF is one of the few places on the internet that I can feel free to say to another person - Hey check out WF! - without worrying about inappropriate BS. Okay, I am done, had to get this off my chest, I love y'all...

I agree with JJ. I have tried out forums from owning my Bronco and my Civic but never logged on more than twice because they alway streated me like a complete idiot because i was new to those particular vehicles. I enjoy the fact that nobody acts l;ike they are better than me just because i drive a completely stock TJ. I also enjoy the fact that I can tell my wheeling buddies to check this place out and know they are going to like it to. I think we have the best administrators I have seen on any forum car related or not. But we have to do our part to help them by keepin the language cleaned up and just trying to be cool with people.

JJ, I know where you're coming from completely. I was a member of a forum for over 5 years until they started allowing jerks to stay and cause mayhem. Now that those guys are gone, I decided to go back. It isn't nice to have to deal with stuff like that when you have your own problems IRL. Luckily, I've dealt with far worse than what has gone on here so it doesn't tick me off as bad. In fact, most times I have no problem giving them ten times more than what they can dish out. Fortunately I don't have to do that here, the mods are pretty good about cleaning things up when they get out of hand. I hope you don't let ignorant people get to you, or cause you to leave your second family.

I know you can take care of yourself and dish it out but to this day If I ever see any of those a&^es on the forums you belonged to I will round kick their teeth down their throats for the disrespect they showed you.

I can't stay serious for long on this board and I stand by my statement.

Sad part, they call me shrek at work also, so I guess I have inherited a new call sign.

JJ PM sent.

Well, I caught up on what all the cotroversy was about.

I'll just say this.

Thanks to 1blkjp and khenderson for being man enough to sign up on MSJ site and trying to mend some fences.

THAT IS WHAT MAKES THESE GUYS SPECIAL. They love jeeps and they love this forum and they did what was necessary to protect the integrity of this forum and still reach out to other jeepers.

Thanks guys for continuing to model what the jeep community is all about. - Having fun and sharing it with all of us.

You guys know there IS a language filter built into this forum right? Turns bad words into stuff like #### or "poop" or whatever.

Just a thought.

Think again. The language filter doesn't do a thing for images which is where the language usually finds its way in.

We don't need a language filter. Thanks for the suggestion.

I am new here and found it to be a good place to get honest info and the folks are good natured. I was out at sea so missed most of the shinangens. But I did notice some mud slinging and general mayem. When I was abler to log back in. Most seemed to be in good fun, but some wasnt. But like bad drivers they eventually move on
Cheers,
Bern

Language isn't that bad here. There is a lot worse elsewhere. And I know some well raised kids who've slipped out one they heard from mom and dad. There is too much at some point, but I don't feel the line has been crossed on this board. A few 4 letter words won't hurt anyone. And you can bet, your kids use them at school. I was at my daughters school yesterday, had to cover my ears so I wouldn't learn any new words. WF rocks and is well ran. Keep up the good work.

I agree WF is well run. The Mods and Admin work very hard to keep it a place that almost everyone can enjoy and I thank them on a regular basis for their diligence.

Ya know, as a parent I've never had the illusion that my children don't know more profanity than I do. You can't keep them from hearing it or seeing it. The only thing you can hope to do is teach them when it's appropriate or not to use it. I have three adult sons that know every profane and disgusting word ever imagined, but I can tell you that not a one of them would dream of using one of them in a public forum or in front of a woman. It's more about respect than anything else. My wife has started reading the forum from time to time, I don't think she should have to be exposed to the vulgarity. That's all. (getting off soap box now....carry on.)

My momma had a saying pasted on the wall:

"Profanity is the use of a weak & feeble mind trying to express itself forcefully"

I've grown up with this, and am bringing up my kids with this mentality. My dad used to apologize for using the word H-E-double hocky sticks. It's not whether one is able to cuss, it's whether one chooses to because they are too lazy to find a more better way to express their thoughts. If you want soapbox......well.....lets just say I can stack 'em pretty high.
I really appreciate that people on this forum show some restraint.
