What America is about.

A mentally challenged young man sings the national anthem at fenway for the baseball game. He did a awesome job and the crowd came in and helped him out. That is how it should always be. Helping out when somebody needs it. Why can't this be more seen across the USA??

Special Person Performs National Anthem (video)

This is actually really cool. I really enjoy teaching golf to the warren special rec here in IL. It is fun to watch the change and what seems so easy to me is so hard for them but never get discouraged and keep trying and trying. The fight and passion they have for succeeding is amazing to me. Thought I would share!

i had a mentally challenged kid in my scout troop, and i can honestly say, he is the best scout ive ever dealt with. ill admit, at times it was tricky, especially when we were just getting used to him, what things were issues and all. but he is the most motivated and determined scout i was ever in charge of. he constantly made all my other underlings look bad when it came to doing tasks, setting things up and such. just got right down to work, no complains bout not wanting to do it. and it was great seeing him progress through the ranks and earning badges and stuff.

schnutzy I am glad you blossomed after you got older but really I know what your saying. Sometimes they are like no I am not doing it or just get completely side tracked. It is funny when I just go with it and the instructors that teach them all day get so annoyed like they are wasting time. I just enjoy being out and helping.

Yuppers. I am actually also trying to get a jeep run setup for the SRA here too. I am trying to get 15 jeeps or so and do a jeep cruise to a park and have a picnic with games and stuff setup. The group I teach all love my jeep along even more so when it is topless doorless. So I figured I would try and setup a day were we can get them all in jeeps like that!

that was an awesome video! i thought it was great that the crowd joined in to help him out. to be perfectly honest, i am a bit teary eyed right now. there is nothing better than Americans coming together to help each other.

My wife works with special needs children. It is a very trying job for her and comes with alot of heart ache, parents issuses and state restrictions.I've told her to get a couple little ones out and I'd take them on a couple easy trails, get them out in the sun and nature, but the powers that be seem to think the best care is to keep them on wards locked up cause they are "special needs children".I say let them kids get out and breathe nature.I'll bet a couple wheelin trips would chill them kids right out.All they are doing is acting out because of trauma.Show them some love and respect without fear and many a kid's lives could be changed for the better.
