Yeah, don't read it if you are easily offended. I think his stories are hilarious, and his book was great. It is definitely a "guy" book to read.

I have an autographed copy of "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell"...absolutely HILARIOUS and 10x funnier than the movie!

I'm not much of a reader as of lately... I used to read alllllll the time when I was younger and I guess I burned myself out. lol

Currently reading:
The Story - it's basically where they put the holy bible into novel form...and since I can't seem to stay awake when trying to read the bible, I picked this up at my grandparent's church the day after Christmas. It's proving to be a pretty interesting read and for those of you interested in the bible...I'd highly recommend it as a stepping stone to reading it.

Another good one I've read as of recently... Nikki Sixx's The Heroin Diaries. It's about Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue/Sixx AM's heroin addiction and was a pretty good read. If you're into rock music, Sixx AM was actually formed to release an album as a soundtrack to the book and it's a great album as well.

George Bush's new biography called Decision Points. Wow, it really gives a lot of interesting insight into being President and the crap they go through. I'm only a few chapters into it but so far it's a very good read... highly interesting and entertaining. One thing I wasn't aware of is that he didn't make his $$$ off his daddy, he is self-made by having started several of his own companies.

Working my way through some Tom Clancy novels, then moving on to some new books i picked up by Andy McDermott and a few others by W.E.B. Griffin.

Clive Cussler and Matthew Reilly are always good authors to pick up when bored.

I read 17 Clive Cussler novels (all Dirk Pitt novels) one summer. That was one cool summer!

I'm pretty sure I have all the dirk pitt novels except for the two newest ones and 1 or two of the older ones. When you stack them all ontop of each other and realize just how many pages are their its pretty incredible.

I hear ya. I bought a Clive Cussler/Dirk Pitt novel at an airport one day since I didn't bring any reading material for the flight. I was hooked at that point. I just CONSUMED his Dirk Pitt novels that whole summer. I'm pissed that he's put Pitt on the back burner these days....... I actually refuse to read any Cussler novels that don't have Pitt as the main character.....

Klinger's The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes. The notes aren't heavy, just gentle helpful notes in the margins explaining the age of Victoria, etc.

Most intriguing book I learned about above in the thread was "Down the Nile alone in a fishermans skiff" which sounds like a very good read.

I read Moorhead's The White Nile which is a history of exploration: Stanley, Livingston, Burton.

Dr. Livingston: humanitarian christian.
Stanley: scheming oportunist
Sir Richard Burton: devil may care but brave adventurer, devotee of wine, woman, & song.

Yep... Down the Nile is pretty good...it's about a womans wish to sail the nile alone..which presents so many obstacles right there...halfway thru and she hasn't accomplished it yet...

The Only Answer to Cancer by Dr Leonard Coldwell

It is all about Charles Bukowski. His books are seriously the only books I have ever read. Aside from service manuals and welding code books. Read Hot Water Music. Then listen to the band. The best stuff ever.

I can't say much about the isaac bell stories because I haven't read any of them, but the Kurt Austin books are not bad for a once through, although I also really like "The Oregon Files"That didn't come out right. They are almost like a mix of dirk pitt and the better parts of a tom clancy novel. Heavy duty fire power is always a plus.

Just finished Nothing to Lose Lee Child. a Jack Reacher novel. Good action sequences. People who deserve to get their butts kicked get them kicked.
