What did you do for Turkey Day?

Just curious. We had the family over at the parentals house today. I ended up being a little under the weather this morning, sore throat headache etc., so the family suggested I go take a drive and get some fresh air while the turkey cooked. I ended up taking the GF and the Jeep, and taking a ride into DC. We stopped and looked at the white house for awhile, walked around it etc.

There seemed to be a lot of people sight seeing in DC today!! Especially at the white house, near where they are building the inauguration platform things. Did anyone else do anything interesting or out of the ordinary this year, or was it just sitting around with the family? I have to admit, it was kind of cool to go see the white house, congressional buildings, court houses, monuments etc. on Thanksgiving. Only in America

I worked. That means I miss all family gatherings.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a bar open on thanksgiving. Sorry off topic, but I just wanted to vent and also have a few shots.

You can't find anywhere to drink some beer in Wierton on Thanksgiving?!?!

Did you try one of the AND MORE! cafes? What about the .. gasp ... club near the steel mill?

You could always hit the drive through convenience store, pick up some beer, and go home. Heck, you could take the Jeep in to the woods, drink a little, and hunt your thanksgiving dinner

I was looking to have a few shots.

I went up and down main street in Weirton. Everything closed.

Thank god I found a bar open before I made it to the ones by the steel mills. I don't need a rash thank you. :eek

I think I might head up to... whats it called? Wier-Hieghts? To see my aunt sometime around Christmas/New Years. I doubt I will be going to the farm since my grandmother passed last year. I might stop by to see my uncle who takes care of it, but I won't be staying there for weekends or days at a time like before. This time I should be in the Weirton area most the time. I will give you a shout if I am going to be staying there for a few days. Just promise to be gentle with my little baby Rubicon

On the bright side, you don't have a bunch of dishes to do.

Give me a call for sure. I'll call ahead to make sure the nonpregreant stippers are at the club.

Then again, it's a dollar a beer night.

We spent the week camping at the beach as usual. We had a great time even though it rained a lot. Surf was blown out most of the time, so I stayed out of the water. Mostly spent time in the motor home either working on my project, reading, or playing games with the wife and kids.

Even with the rain, the sunsets were gorgeous:

View out of the motor home door:

And, of course, the beach turkeys:

Hey AD......you're from Wierton? Do you know the Levendorfs? I used to teach SCUBA with Kelly down in the Keys. He's still living in South Florida. Don't know how big Wierton is, maybe it's way too big to know many people. Just thought I'd ask on the off chance you know the family.......
