what do you call it?

Am I the only one who uses the word Jeep and wrangler as one and the same. For example when someone asks what I drive, I say "Jeep". And the most common response is "what kind of Jeep?" I always thought people would understand what I meant. In my opinion, a "wrangler" is the only true Jeep. Everything else(compass, Cherokee, patriot) are just products of Chrysler. Is it just me?

No...I see it the same way too. I don't think the other model drivers (Cherokee etc) say they drive a jeep when someone asks. But, I may be wrong.

Yon know when I was in HS in the 60's there sure wasn't anything wrong with a CJ.There sure wasn't any wranglers,yj ,jk or what have ya.The CJ for sure helded its own. I realize that was 50 yrs ago and Im not sure they pushed them as hard as they are pushed today.I personally don't remember any rock climbing as there is today.Does anybody ever remember doing or hearing of any such as is done today??????Whatever we were doing--it sure was fun!!!!!!!

Well... I love my Wrangler and my CJ8 and refer to them equally as the "Jeep". I liked my old Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, but you're right- I don't think I called them "the Jeep". Kind of like I don't call my Vrod "the Harley"... because it isn't so much a real Harley in my mind (hopefully don't get haters from that comment, but I think most bikers would agree)
