Phil Simms- Went to high school with him. He worked construction with a buddy of mine while he was in college at Morehead, too.

Greg Page - WBA champ in '85

ZZ Top (all of 'em)- My wife was in a band that opened for them at Helsinki Jam in Bardstown, KY

Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks- Had front row tickets at the side of the stage (Rumours tour). When they came out a little early I started talking to them. Really nice people. It kinda amazed me. Not as much as the bunch I was with though. They were speechless. Couldn't get it through their heads that just because somebody is famous it doesn't make them goddesses. They DID look pretty close to it though.

Brian Urlacher- Met him when he talked to my son's H.S. team

I always turn into an idiot when I meet somebody I respect.. I was almost shaking with Dale Murphy.. I don't think I said 3 words.

Yeah, I wish I had a better ending to that story, but it just ended with each of us passing on our way. Hindsight being 20/20, I'd have tried getting a conversation going, but you know how that goes.....

Wife and I went ballooning with Col. Joe Kittenger when he was associated with Rosie O'Grady's Flying Circus here in Orlando. I've met some famous people over the years but he was the coolest, most genuine and my personal favorite.

Joseph Kittinger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

We even have a tourist marketing video of the day that they took somewhere.
And also it was the day I asked my wife to marry me way up in the balloon.

That makes much more sense. I kind of pictured you just getting on some random bus.

Met Doug Flutie at a roulette table at Ceasar's Palace. Almost met: House sat across the street from Eminem, Mark Harmon is like my 5th cousin but never met and Dana Allison has a grand-son in our town's little league and grew up here.

yeah, i wouldn't laugh at him he's still a big effin dude and doesn't take it well if you down talk the WWE. we get kids from several universities in the area who come into the bars and act like they own the place, all filthy rich trust fund babies, and once or twice a year there is that one jock who takes it too far with the insults and ends up tossed out into the street.

I met Chris Ledoux in the green room at a show in Amarillo, TX back in 1989 and just decided to walk up and talk to him. He probably spent 20 minutes shootin the breeze with me before heading out for his show. Great guy, great music. Big loss to the western music scene.

One of my best friends is Kevin Fowler of the Texas music scene.

I met Robert Klein in 1984 when I did security at one of his stand-up comedy shows at Texas Tech University.

Used to know Michael Martin Murphy when my brother-in-law drove one of his busses. he's an ass though.

Many years ago I was in a rap group, no sh*zz.
Our manager took us to Orlando and we hung out with DJ Magic Mike in his recording studio and we chanted background vocals on two of his records.
Back in the day he was kinda famous in the miami bass genre, or to me anyway. I've heard him referred to as "one of those platinum selling artists that you never heard of".

I've met every friggin' body in the Coral Reefer Band numerous times except the man Jimmy Buffett himself

Nadirah Shakoor has an intoxicating voice. I'm a HUGE Parrothead!!

Every single Buffett concert I've been to (and I've been to a bunch), we've had our beach ball not only make it onstage, but Jimmy touched it in some way. He's kicked our beachballs, he's thrown them offstage, he's read a couple of them (we signed them), and he's even played soccer with one onstage with Michael Utley back in the day. There's nothing on the planet like a Buffett concert. I love it when they get the giant, helium filled remote control shark going when he plays "Fins"!!!!

I met James Hetfield once, naw not really but it would be so freaking cool. Sorry, huge fan.

I'm not a football guy but I met a couple NFL players (I don't know their names)when I was in Baghdad. They were doing a USO tour and I got my picture taken with them. When I got back a co-worker said he saw the picture on ESPN.

I also saw Mel Gibson in an airport once. I didn't talk to him or anything but it was cool.

I watched G.W. Bush and his motorcade drive by once when he was President. I was at the entrance to base housing at McConnell.

Sorry, that's all I got.

I totally forgot my weirdest celeb encounter:

I was on personal security detail for our battalion commander in Iraq and we used to run him to an embassy in Al Hillah for security briefings etc. While he was in meetings we would hit up the chow hall (it was the absolute best, run by Blackwater) so I was filthy dirty and tired from riding around in the sun and dust up in the gunner's hatch. Walked in and there was a huge crowd of out of place civilians in the lobby. I was in full gear with 3 weapons strapped to me and I started pushing reporter types to the side to get to the back door (where the chow was) and in the middle I come face to chest (he's tall) with John Kerry. He was in a full suit, which is strange for a helicopter ride and he didn't seem happy at all to be faced with two dirty troops.. we just kept pushing stooges out of the way and I had shrimp and steak for a late lunch with cake and sweet tea to wash it down.
