KT has a slide lock... Once you've emptied your magazine into the assailant, the slide stays locked open. lol

Hmm, forgive my ignorance, but how do you release the slide then without a lever?

The LCP has a release lever, but doesn't lock back automatically after the last shot. Aka "bang bang bang click.."

Sorry for the hi-jack, but Ive been torn between these two for a while.

Drop the mag. the slide stop is built into the mag follower.

You know, dear leader obama doesn't approve of guns, especially concealed carry...

I had the P3AT 2nd gen - had to send it back cuz it malfunctioned at least twice per mag. Got it back - worked good for about 48 rounds then the trigger bar broke - got a refund. I wouldn't trust the LCP either - too close in design to the KT.

I just stick with my GLOCKS now - over 4k rounds without a MF. G22 .40 for house - G27 .40 for CCW - G17 9mm for duty. And of course the Mossberg 12 gauge for up close and personal. Wifey has a S&W 686 .357 4".

2nd Gen isn't the best out of the two versions, but they are still a good gun. Sadly Gus got a lemon. Everyone makes one now and then. That aside, it is still a good gun. I would trust mine and my families life to it. It goes everywhere I go.

Good lookin guns. I like old stuff. I've got a Ruger .22, manufactured in 1953. It's a really sweet pistol and lots of fun.

Yep, you can't beat those .22's for fun and just being plain bullet proof.

Sad thing is, the 9 is for show, but the .22 is what I'd ever end up shooting some thief with. With meth heads, you just have to aim higher is all..

Really?? I thought the gen 2 guns were supposed to be an improvement over the 1st gen P3ATs? I agree everyone makes a bad gun occasionally, (except GLOCK ) but if you read the gun forums, there are an awful lot of people who have gotten bad P3ATs. On the other hand, I know there are a lot of people that love them and claim they function perfectly. I really wanted to like it. It fits nice in a pocket and is a real "go with you anywhere" gun. But, I have learned to adjust clothing to carry my GLOCK 27 at all times instead. Another plus for the GLOCK is the caliber - I prefer .40 over .380.

Hey - whatever works for YOU is what is important.

From what I've read and understand, I think there were some unliked changes about the 2nd Gen. On the flipside, I have yet to shoot the 3AT. I do have 2 P32's though. 1st gen is the preferred out of those models. I need something lighter than the .40 to be carring inside my belt. There is usually a biiger gun within reach, but the I just can't get past how concealable and manageable the KT is.

Well, I actually found a shop today that had the LCP in stock, and seeing it and the Kel-Tec side by side there is definitely a big difference. The Ruger is very well finished and refined living up to its brand while the Kel-Tec looks as though it was rough cast in an injection mold and sent down the line without another thought. I also had trouble getting the magazine to release from the Kel-Tec and when it did, I had to pull it from the frame. The Ruger's mag shot out like a rocket with just enough force on the button to prevent accidental release.

I love my LCP. It is small enough to carry anywhere. It shoots great (easily qualify with it at 25 yrds). With good ammo like Winchester SXT rounds it will make a nice hole. I have recommended the little gun as a backup to many people at work and have never heard of anyone being dissatisfied.
