... Well it looks similar to the original 3 series but it's not an m3 as far as I can tell...any idea why the BMW badge is crossed out and why it says Pontiac on the windshield?

Hahaha...not a Pontiac! It's an Alpina. Circa 1977(ish).

Look at the vin plate on the engine side of the firewall. There should be an original BMW plate x'd out an an Alpina plate next to it. If you thought Dinan bmws were bad, you don't know about alpinas. Alpina basically took new bmws and modified so much they were issued new manufacturer #s, hence the double plate found on most.

We're I to find such a treasure, I would try to restore it to Alpina new condition. Awesome score... There's a reason they made it a track car.

It's a rally car. I found it in an abandoned warehouse I was exploring on the outskirts of town. It's interior is stripped and has only one racing seat and a role cage. It has a Tennessee license plate last registered in '04.

Not Rallye, im thinking more of an autocross car. Rallye car will have both seats as theres always a navigator along with the wheel man. Still a cool find!
