Lol....well, thank God I'm not an MP, lol.....City PoPo. Heck, not my car, wish a grunt would have offered to do a dynamic entry on it, lol, would have made for some good dash cam footage.

About 5 years ago I had a YJ and I use to keep my phone between the dash and the windshield. One days I decided to do a u turn without my doors on and my phone slid between my dash and windshield and flew right out of my Jeep. I stopped got my phone and it still worked!

I have fallen victim to the dash items going out the passengers side door too many times to count. You name it, sunglasses, phones, cigarettes. If you can put it on your dash it's flown out my door.

Haha. I've started to drive with it on before too. "wtf feels so weird!? Oh..."

Didnt you smell burning brakes every time you drove anywhere?

I'm 46 years old. I've done sooooo many stupid things I can't count that high. If you want to stay jeep related, well, I've sold a 76 cherokee chief for $200 (how's that for stupid?) I passed on an 86 cj for $4000.00 in 1987 and I own a jeep today!
it is the most worthless vehicle/most fun vehicle I have ever owned. i never regretted buying my jeep from day one up to today.

Had an intermittent but pronounced multi-cylinder miss. Checked plugs, all looked nice, center electrode insulator was just getting to be the color of tea, indicating good burn... Swapped the spark rail with a spare I had... No change.
Then my friend told me to go get some drygas.
All fixed.
Grrrr.

Nothing to do with my Jeep, but when changing out the brake pads on a different vehicle while "under the influence", I put one of the pads in backwards. Metal on metal is NOT cool.

Was putting on SRC side rails/steps and stripped multiple bolts screwing into the frame because the instructions didn't give me a torque setting. Had to redrill bigger holes and buy new self tapping screws and do it all over again

Put the finishing touches installing Warn winch on 2006 TJ Rubicon, packed up all my tools in onboard toolbox but never could find my dad's heirloom 8" adjustable wrench. Well, it'll turn up somewhere, gotta get on the road to beat traffic and visit good friend in Pittsburgh.

500 miles and nine hours at Interstate speeds later I pull in to her house. Next morning while showing off the Jeep the wrench turned up ... sitting right on the front bumper where I had left it

Not on a jeep but dropped a small 10 mm socket inside nose of 300zx and could not find it

On 400 mile trip went over bump at railroad crossing and the socket at base of inside fan sroud jumped up an inch and the engine fan whacked it into the radiator causing a leak and overheating

When I pulled off the nose to replace the radiator I found the socket and its imprint on the back side of the radiator and a leak at the deepest point on the imprint

PO used a poly tarp to cover the Jeep in inclement weather. Said tarp stayed with the Jeep when I got it. A HUGE tip of the hat to my PO! Bungee'd down over the top and windows, it makes getting going after snotty weather MUCH easier!

OTOH, wrapping the Jeep topless? Not so much: imagine the water that collects in the tarp between the tubes on the roll-cage. The interior stays dry but..how to remove the tarp with out spillage...

Drove off from football practice with my iPod on my hood. And I'm typing with it now! It survived.

Had my summer reading book in the passenger side seat (doorless) and took a left hand turn. It flew out. Took me a few hours to find out where it went.

I once put gear oil in the brake oil spot. I had no issues till my brakes gave out two weeks later. I was still able to make it home all thanks to driving stick.

Was underneath the jeep pumping in some transmission oil when I cracked the cheap little hand pump... Like most people I figured I'd at least be able to finish the job... Two and a half pumps later guess who got the money shot??? Gear oil tastes like shizz haha

Ordered skyjacker hydro7000s shocks (stupid thing number 1) then installed the rear ones upside down (stupid thing number 2). You can only imagine my ride quality... It was quite interesting and got hazed a good bit for installing the rears upside down.. In my defense i had good logic behind it putting rod down and can up trying to keep water and junk out. Didnt realize at the time that rod had to be up and can down with them. I had the front ones right... It was a long day...

Got a squealing sound coming from my engine bay about a week after I did a few jobs on my jeep(replacing oil pan, welding frame, replacing tranny cooler lines). Was driving me mad for nearly 3 weeks. Replaced my water pump(which was leaking, but wasn't causing the squealing), idler pulley, tensioner pulley, serp belt, and was about to replace the power steering pump. That's when I got the idea to go over and re-tighten all my bolts from my previous job. Squealing stopped. It was one of my manifold bolts. That was about a 200 dollar lesson, but hey at least I got almost a whole brand new belt and pulley assembly.

Changing my front differential fluid, thinking, "I'll just keep the cap on this bottle until I get close to the hole... that way I won't make a mess". I line it up to the hole and *pop*, the cap goes shooting right into the fill hole
