When I started wheeling a lot, around 86 or 87, there was 4 of us who went out a lot, together.
Three of us, had similar rigs, only set up quite differently.
Ken had a CJ3A, with 4 cyl, T18 and 6.3 gears in the diffs, so he could crawl everything.
Scott had a CJ5 with a I6, T18 and 4.10 gears in the diffs, so he had lots of torque.
I had a CJ5 with a 304V8, T15 and 3.54 gears. So I had to throttle up everything.
I was really quite famous for using the "loud" pedal. A lot.
And going with great wheelspeed ('cause I had to) sometimes causes unintended side effects, like driving up trees & nearly rolling backwards.
After enough shennanigans, I got the nickname.
However I also changed the CJ, went to a T18, got 4.27gears, and could crawl things.
Fast forward a couple decades, and internet forums come into favor, and I revived that username. With fond memories.
And no, I don't work in the forest. I work retail.
edit: I'm also TreeClimber on Pirate, NW-Wheelers, PNW, and all the other boards I visit. Unfortunately, some other person chose TreeClimber a month before I visited here, so it was taken. So I added a 1
You kids are probably saying to yourself, "Now, I'm gonna go out, and I'm gonna get the world by the tail, and wrap it around and put it in my pocket!!" Well, I'm here to tell you that you're probably gonna find out, as you go out there, that you're not gonna amount to Jack Squat!!" You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river!
Back in the old AOL days you could only have 10 letter user names so I used this and its unique so I use it mssg boards
My name Ed and I'm a Parrothead so I shortened Caribbean Soul CrbnSoul
My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.
Cause I have a 1990 wrangler which is my baby I sold it and bought it back and put money into as im sure we all do have big plans to turn it into trail jeep after I buy a jk for a daily driver and for beach and light trails
