I served for 4 years at the Naval Weapons Station in Goose Creek. You're close to where I was. I miss it there, it's so beautiful (if you know where to look)
I used to live in Goose Creek, just a couple miles from there. Imoved so I would get accused of being a terrorist if I had fireworks in my trunk. Who would think terrorist would want to come here with just two small nuclear reactors in town...

You shouldn't talk about those reactors. I was base police there, and my specialty was anti-terrorism. They will shoot on sight if you get within so close of them.

Yea, those two arab guys who got pulled over the other day, I don't know what they intended if anything at all, but I'm sure they wouldn't have made it very far. And despite the news, they were no where near the weapons station or even going in the right direction.

Oh, childhood memory, weeklong camping/fishing trip on the Brazos River just a few miles down from the PK dam.

Watching my Pops and Uncle Nick drinkin' beer and cracking bullwhips in the front yard. They both ended up putting X's on their own backs.

Oh and all the times Pops and I had to go to the hospital from Marion Lake because someone had a fishin' hook in them.

My fondest childhood memories....

...waking up and not stressing over bills or responsibilities, looking forward to summer vacation from school, hanging out with all my childhood friends, THREE FRIGGIN' STOOGES every Saturday morning before Looney Toons, hangin' out on the train trestle, playing street basketball, making fun of friends mamas, going riding in the bottoms on my bike, hanging out with my pops and not doing anything, having endless amounts of energy, playing with matchbox cars under the shade tree down the street, not knowing everything I know now about the world and all the messed up ass people in it...

I could do this forever. lol

When I was 6-7 years old, we lived on a quiet country road. In the summer, after dark, my whole family would go for a walk down the road, and just listen the the night sounds and watch for shooting stars and satellites.

When I was 12, my dad woke us all up, about 1 am, to see the northern lights. It was the first time I'd seen them and I'll always remember that night.

Aww Amy! That sounds like some nice memories. When I was a kid, we vacationed in Florida. My dad would wake me before the sun rose just so we could go out at low tide and look for sand dollars. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Me and my buddy Billy grabbing our .22's our fishing poles a couple sleeping bags and heading off into the woods for a couple weeks. We took no food, just lived off the land and wondered wherever we wanted till we got bored and went home.
Boy you shoulda heard our folks screaming, talk about fun, woowee.
It seams we forgot to tell anybody we were going and they had this strange idea that we might have been kidnapped or somesuch.

That's awesome! You forgot to tell them you were leaving? So was it one one those, "Oh I'm so glad you're alive, because now I'm going to kill you!"?

No, it was one of those "*&% *&%&% &*^%$%$# ^^%^%#^$ &%$#$%$ ^%^ little ^%&%^" you're gonna be shoveling &^%^ out of the barn for the rest of your life kinda things.

We took off all the time without telling anyone where we were going but they could usually track us down at one of our friends houses or we would return within a day or two. This was a little over the top.
