As soon as another disaster or boondoggle hits, the short attention span of people will loose focus on the gun thing. Ammo will be plentiful BUT cost MORE. Unless it is another mass shooting. Then who knows.

I've been hoarding ammo since Oct. 2008

I do a ton of reloading too, and components now are getting scarce. The masses are arming themselves.

^ Years and years now. Many since right about Nov 2008. Plenty started on 9/12/01.

I can't see boolits getting banned. Seems somebody would step the game up with production, I just do not understand why they don't. Maybe the govt is still too busy shipping cargo planes full of em to foreign countries...

I hate seeing .15$ for 9mm and .3$ for 556, let alone .5$ and 1$.

So when is the mag bill gonna pass? I hope more than 3 weeks at least.

I just got an order in 2 days before the sh** hit the fan in CT. Now i can't find anything. I'm not worried for now but if this persists for 6 months or more it will be time to be concerned. My buddy sells mags for the AR-15 and has several thousand he's collected and he's moving a 3-4 hundred a week now. They are going mostly to the NE states they know what's coming for them.

In my home town, the Cabelas store got their first 5 AR's in weeks. A guy walked in not a half hour later and bought all 5 of them. One of my uncle's builds lowers for DPMS arms and is working 7 days a week to just keep even with back orders.

I find it funny that by threatening to ban these weapons, they're putting more ARs in the hands of citizens than ever before. I have enough ARs. I have asolutely no need for any more of them, but as soon as I heard of a potential ban, I immediately bought another stripped lower. Then a week later, I bought 2 more just because I didn't know how this "ban" was going to play out. I plan on building at least one of the lowers and possibly selling the other two, but I might end up building all three. The end result is this...I had no intentions of building any more ARs (for me...I build them for friends on occasion) until the threat of a ban. This threat of a ban effectively put three more ARs into my collection. Americans are arming themselves at an unprecedented rate right now. I love it.

Got ammo today! At least I don't have to throw my Ruger Mini-14 at a burglar...I can at least pump him full of some varmint rounds, LOL!

I got some .308 today when I picked up my Gunsite Scout Rifle...maybe I'll make that my home defense weapon until I can get some more lethal .223...which may be a while

Copy that, A week ago I had eight AR's in 5.56 and one in .22lr sitting in my safe, no need for additional. But then I ran into the owner of a large law enforcement firearms distributorship and was discussing threats of ban and how it has driven prices up. He advised that he had a quantity of Colt LE6920's on hand and that he offered to sell them to individual Officers from my agency at the more realisitic price of $1200 plus tax to those who wanted them (stipulating no more than 1 per cop). I was not passing up that opportunity. I picked mine up Thursday and about 10 others in my agency are purchasing next week.

As long as it relativly sealed and is not exposed to moisture. It should last as long as you do.

When this all blows over, and it will, prices and supplies will return to normal. People who paid up to 3 times the retail price for guns will be stuck. There may ultimately be some new gun regs/laws but not likely to be significant changes.

i asked for some 300BLK at Alpine in DFW. the guy said "yea there is a box right in front of you"

20 rounds $56.99.....laughed in his face.

i think i am asking prices because it gives me a chance to laugh directly in someones face and insult their business. its usually something i try to avoid, but its fun sometimes.

i agree with this, lets not forget the people who bought up all the lowers and didnt get to sell them for the crazy prices they wanted will be flooding the market.

One box is enough to keep you safe? I guess as far as 9mm goes I am safe atleast 100 times then

I hope that you are correct my friend. Perhaps this will teach people to buy, in reasonable quantities over time, when prices are "normal." When Wal Mart had Federal Champion 9mm at $10.97 a box, I made it a point to buy a box or 2 every time I went in for anything. Same with .45acp and .40 S&W.

Not seeing any ammo shortages here though guns are selling briskly. I went to the range today and there was plenty of ammo.

But, I may grab a few boxes tomorrow just for giggles.

No, no, no. I bought a box of 100. I have many boxes of 100, @ both places. Rest assured, we have a decent supply.

Recently, Walmart will only sell you 100 @ a time. Lame.

Fear. Unfounded and unrealistic, but what it is.

Maybe I would understand a run on SS109 as it MAY become a target, but M193? Nope. CTD has SS109 for like 1.25$/rnd - HA! Glad I stocked up at .50$/rnd...

It's almost all unfounded. There is no reason for 9mm ammo to be flying off the shelf. The high prices are self induced.

I was at our local gun shop this week and even one of the sales guys were making fun of people. Both the left wing anti gun crowd and the gun packers are becoming cartoons of themselves.

I recently went to Walmart and needed the 1 box of .45 they had...could have helped myself because they left the ammo cabinet keys unattended on the from counter.
