That's refreshing to hear. Most kids I see these days are hunched in front of their tvs playing video games. Can't be healthy.

When you aired the tires down, it would go just about any place that you pointed it in. THEM WERE THE DAYS............
I had extra leafs added to the springs and also had them re-arched. It was a real danger driving down the highway, real squirrely in the wind, but boy was it ever was fun.......

A 1958 Willys Station Wagon.
  • AM radio
  • Bench seats
  • 3-speed on the column
  • No A/C
  • No Seat Belts*
  • No Turn Signals*
*It was built without them and I had to add them when I bought it.

This is what's confusing me when i see the 2dr vs 4dr war with,"it's not a jeep if it has 4drs, and or "can't crawl".... In my minds eye, this "IS"... The jeep!!! the civilian Protege the 2dr.. Hmm... Ahhhh.... Classic vintage... My passion.

In 1972 I bought a 1970 CJ5, stock with the Buick 225 V6 in it.

By the time I sold it 3+ years later it had a Paxton supercharger on it. The transmission was a Ford 4 speed top loader. The front axle was replaced with a Dana 44. There was a lot of other small modifications also, but I have forgotten a lot of them.

Used to take it our almost every weekend and beat the crap out of it an it never left me stranded or broke down.
