Which Model started your Jeep obsession?

This is the one that hooked me. I was about 13 years old back in the mid 70s. Still remember the first time I saw this model on the road. Wanted one in the worst way:

My first Jeep was a red '74 CJ-5 Renegade. Had it for a little over a year in Michigan's northern peninsula. Really liked that one, but it was hard to really like it during the winter when temps were below zero, as it had a rag top.

I bet. I'm in Maine and loving my ragtop during the summer, but you can bet the hardtop is going back on after the leaves change!!

My Dad had a CJ 5 Back I'm the early 80's when I was a young kid so that's when it started for me. So far I've owned 2 CJ 7's, 1 TJ, and 2 LJ's. I guess I'm addicted :-)

Started with a basket case 1953 M38A1 that my dad and I rebuilt when I was 13. Except for a few years here and there I've owned some form of jeep ever since.

Though I was only 7 and didn't realize it for a few years, I never forgot that first ride in a Jeep FC 150. I learned that the best things in life are dirty in 1958.

When I was in High School in the 70's two of my older brothers both had CJ-5's. I bought my first of three CJ-5's around 1980.

My family has always had Jeeps, my grandparents had countless Cherokees, my uncle had a CJ Scrambler for a while, and in 2008 my dad picked up a 98TJ for our desert vacation house. That right there set the seed and the addiction.

I was 10 years old and sat in a brand new '76 CJ7 at a new car show that was being held at the mall. That planted the seed. 9 years later Uncle Sam let me drive his.

I never got my own until I leased a '98 SE. Life necessitated some changes and I had to get out from under a car payment so it got traded off with a promise from the wife that once we get things in order I get another one. She held up her end I got a '99 Sport that I now own outright.

If I ever get rid of this one, it'll be so I can get a new one.

Had a '69 CJ5 back in high school. I think it spent as much time on jack stands as it did on the road, but it sure was fun.

CJ7 Was about 1980. I was 8, inherited it when the o'l man died. Traded it for a 2wd Toyota pickup when I was 16, I shoulda been shot for that. Bought another at 20 and have had a jeep since. I've loved them all, I have owned every model since 80 except scrambler. Runnin a '12 JKR now. Waitin patiently on the diesel. Def going AEV 350 again tho.

I had a 86 CJ7 renegade I bought with 7000 miles on the odometer in 87. I drove the piss out of that jeep. We were great friends. Never let me down. Felt like a king every time I drove it.

I was inspired by the 78 CJ5 Levi editions. And the Daisy Duke jeep!

Nice! I get to drive my buddies 70s-era CJ7 when I visit him in Fl a couple of times a year. It is a blast.

There were jeeps in our family, but this was my first one that I owned and rebuilt. 1984 J10.[IMG][/IMG] Before that, while I was home from college, I bought a 1978 CJ5 Renegade with 304 V8 off a repo man for $1100...it was in sad shape, but I sold it a week later for $2500.
Since then, have always had at least one jeep in the garage...

Thanks for that pic. I had vacuum windshield wipers on top of the window like that pic. When you put the windshield down, the line would unplug. I would put a piece of elect. tape so to not suck up water, dust or whatever.
