Who's stuck working today?

I am.

I've also had 3 officers call off since 3pm yesterday. I wish I could fire 'em all and get people that want to "EARN" their pay and not just get a check.

I'm on my normal shift so it doesn't matter much and from midnight to midnight today it is all at time and one half.

Yep, staring at the wall, bored out of my mind and eating stuffed Jalapeños.

I wished I had something to snack on. I have 2 peaches and a bottle of green tea I brought.

I am bored out of my gourd.

Two warehouse docks are working and no one on this side of the building except me.

LOL, no one here either. I have a window that won't open and the walls are painted Institutional Grey. They say that color keeps me calm but I think It makes me catatonic.

Sounds like military to me. They always enjoyed bare, grey walls.

I do at least have 2 exterior glass doors to look out of. I also get to walk out on the porch and watch it rain.

Still raining here in Houston. How is DFW today?

yep been nasty all over it seems.

My parents just got back from Abilene. They saw more water through the places they grew up than they have ever seen. To see the Leon River just under the bridge really surprised them.

AD have you had any time off since Monday?

Do you have crazy shifts like 3 days on and 2 off or something?

I got to leave for lunch the other day. A few guys went on vacation so I have to cover their shifts. I only have 7 more hours today and then I get to go home. By home I mean a bar.

Nope. I'm sitting on the couch with my feet up drinking a cherry coke watching the local news thinking I want to go to the beach.

I can't help it if my "stuck at work" is out back in the studio behind my house and there's no "the man" making me go out there. So I'm not going to.

Yeah I haven't seen this much water here since I've lived here. If it doesn't stop raining it will be a recap of 1949 here. I think our levees are higher now but they are dirt and we already have at least one breech on a feeder creek that I know of.

Oh wow that pic is huge, lol

Send some of that rain here. I'm wishing they would cancel the fireworks here because the threat of fire is so high.

You can have it we have plenty...Hope you all make it through the fourth OK. I was reading about the Tahoe Fire a few days ago and it seems the west coast is a tinder box right now

It is, but we're kinda used to it. One good thing is that because it never rained in my area this year, the weeds never grew, so we don't have as much fuel.

I never knew there was a fire season before I moved here... and I can't wait to leave.

I can't believe they would still set fireworks off if there's a chance of fire. I said it before, your state sucks.

No one ever said the city governments we have were any smarter then the state ones. Just heard on the radio that they are still going to try to have the fireworks show even if it is a downpour again. That might be some interest fizzles to see.

I was sitting at a stop light the other day and saw a guy toss a lit cigarette out of his car window. I seriously considered hopping out of the jeep, picking it up and putting it out on his forehead.

You're right Odhinn, common sense is at a premium.

It's not just common sense, people don't have respect for anything these days.

For anything or Anyone. Look at how people treat others on a day to day basis.
