alright good job, man. least from what I have seen around here in North Texas, there aren't many special ed teachers that are male. in all my certification classes men comprised 5-10% of the students. in my graduate classes, i was the ONLY guy in like 18 of the classes..which wasn't a BAD thing...and now out of 2 diagnosticians and 8 teachers and 5 teacher's aides, there are only 3 of us that are men (1 diag, 1 teacher and 1 aide)

honestly, there is a real need for men in the high school SPED ranks to really work with these kids that need the most help

hang in there

Laughing out loud as I read this thinking back to my illustrius college experience. Did my degree on the 25 year plan. A couple of jobs, a wife, and a divorce......One of the last classes I nneded to take was a Communications class. Prof had us stand up and give 5 minutes on ourselves.....Most of the bubblegum crowd wanted to be roadies for rock bands and I was out earning a living working 40 plus a week, living in an apartment I paid for, and driving a sports car I was paying for.

Or the Quality Statistics class where I kept getting A++ on my homework assignments. Never had been an "A" student in my life. Finally asked the prof and he smiles....opens a folder of our recent homework assignments....says this one is yours right? That would be the one printed off the laser printer having been done in MS Excel. Yes that would be mine....... and this is theirs.....The pencil scribble that was barely legible on the sheets torn out of a spiral notebook. Message received loud and clear.

College was almost fun as an adult....ALMOST!
