Whoa George no one is attacking anyone here just stating our opinions just as you have. Now in our line of work I think i'm correct when I say we will or like myself have met pretty much every race you can possibly meet and all WILL be treated the same( with respect) if they act accordingly. Most are stating they are sick of the same ones and given where they work it's probably the worst of the worst with no respect for anyone or any thing for that matter. Now police do have a bad rep of racism due to movies or TV but thats pretty much BS (Except for a very few vets). So with that being said enjoy the rest of the board and lets go jeepin !!!
once while working in the jail I was told I was racist against white people, this coming from a white inmate (and yes i am also)

I'm told I'm a racist everyday its nothing new. I tell them that "your entitled to your own opinions about me as well as I about you, no matter what ever those opinions are right now I'm thinkin your an Adam Henry" they usually shut their mouth after that.

Theres no point. It'll just stir things up that need not be stirred. I am all for the discussion of races and cultures and there respective differences as long as it is done in a respectful, constructive, and productive matter.

While generalization are thought to be mostly true, they are in fact the opposite of what you say they are. A generalization, by definition, is seeing one person that looks a certain way or acts a certain way and applying what you seen that one person doing/saying/acting to everyone else who generally looks the same - hence the word: Generalization.

There was no need for the nasty reply.
I didn't attack you - I questioned you. I guess I don't rate that? Post count too low or something? And I didn't realize (again - on a DISCUSSION board) that what we discuss had to be "respectful, constructive and productive." I'll invite you to look at just about every topic and every post in this place, and see if you can say that about whatever is being discussed. Hint: everybody is just having friendly conversations. We're not trying to solve the world's problems. Just firing the feces and maybe having a few jokes.

Get off your high horse. Nobody was being mean - they were just talking. Nobody was saying one race was superior to any other (which is what racism is). You're still trying to be the thought police, and unless you have "moderator" somewhere by your name, that's not your job. If you get offended any time someone discusses something you don't like, then don't look. We are doing nothing wrong, and you are just whining. Instead of hijacking the thread to which you have nothing to add, if you don't like the fact that this thread offends you, you can complian to a moderator. If they don't like it, they can lock it.

Again - get over it.

I respect all LEOs. In fact, I'm planning to go into some type of LE.

As for addressing officers, if I know them(I'm an explorer), I'll call them Officer [Last name]. If I don't know them, I'll call them officer. If they're off duty, I won't speak to them unless they speak first. I'll throw my hand up though.

I'm prejudice against people who poop in diapers.

Does this mean I'm racist? Or just a baby hater... wait... some old people poop in diapers too.

I'm so confused....

if i talk about the cops, its usually "F'n cops..." not that i think anything bad about regular old civilian police, i just havent had much time around them. now security police (the air forces cops) those guys i have been around...f'n cops...

also, i think george was just making a comment. "Get over it." sounds like an order. news flash stud, that sounded like a nasty reply to me too.

see this is just the type of shit that that we don't need on here. this was a great thread about something that was semi humorous and now with the few that are making it such a serious cut-throat down to the point debate its not so fun anymore. Thanks for ruining this thread!

Yeah, why PO-PO? Of all the things you have probably been called in your career, why did you pick po-po to bitch about? That's why we have a job. Because of the lack of respect some people have for others. If the parents and schools could have a thing or two back then we nor our jailers would have to work as hard as we do.

The guy's already calling a cop a "Racist", suprisingly doesn't suprise me. Did I post my race? Funny I didn't remember doing that. I've saved the lives of every race I can think of. Have you? I call a bad neighborhood a getto, but put my life on the line protecting the people who live there and I'm a racist. How do I respond to that? I don't work in middle America. I do work in the most racially diverse state in the nation and for one of the most diverse departments in the country. Who do you work with? My partners are Black, Asian, Hispanic, Female and Mixed race. We ALL get along like brothers. Can you say the same of your co-workers? A looser criminal is a looser criminal reguardless of race.

I've got months on the books and probably do need a vacation, but I can't take one. Love me or hate me I still do my job. If you hate the way your cops do their job I would invite you to try it. A true eye openning experience would occur. Put up or shut-up.

No one's specifically called anyone a racist, and it's not going to start.

crj101 not bitching just a humorist question about some of the colorful names people have for the police trust me I have been called way worse than po-po.
And if in fact there were no racist undertones or remarks made then lets drop it 'k.

I still don't get the whole PoPo thing. I've never heard it. And hell, I don't come in contact with officers enough to have pet names for them. Unless you work with them, or have other casual daily contact, it's kind of sad to have that much contact that you make up pet names....
