That is a reason not to like a certain vehicle!

I rode in a HMMWV on my dads military base when i was young. We went off road and from that point on the "Humvee," or "Hummer," was my favorite vehicle. Then Am general was sold to general motors. After that i saw the word Hummer written on the back of a bunch of chevy tahoes... I would have appreciated it if Chevrolet didnt disgrace the HMMWV's nickname "Hummer" by printing it in huge letters on a tahoe bumper.

To be more precise, and like many others on this thread, I hate H2's because they are not Hummer's, yet have that name undeservedly etched on to it's body for everyone to see. Call it a Tahoe extreme, Silverado Short, or a Yukon Penile Validator and i'd be fine, but keep the name Hummer off of it until GM decides to equip it with portal gears and a diesel engine.

No offense man, but the other's are correct, it's a poor excuse for a Hummer.

your disdain is amusing... you talk like your daddy founded the company and the H2 soiled his name

What a bunch of narrow minded aholes, it's his money he can do with and buy and drive what he wants. I'm sure the greeting he got from you jerks will really want to make him become a active supporting member.

now apply that theory to hummer line. none of them are as capable as the original that its trying to knock off.

you know now that ive typed that i reallize why i hate them. its a knock off.

every vehicle has roll if fulfills or a market its targeted at. what is the hummer lines targeted market? there's two in my parking lot. neither have seen a dirt road. i asked the girls that drive them. in fact one day after lunch one of them came in complaining that something was wrong with her steering. well let me look at it. about 2 secs later we had a long conversation about what 4x4 is and why it was acting funny while she was driving it.

and i love trucks. but they have a roll they do well. what does the H2 do? do tell me how much you can carry in yours with that full size box.
Its not meant for me to carry anything but the most i have had in the back was to complete chevy big blocks (aprox 1400 lbs) That defines utility to me... Will i be able too that in jeep? believe it or not not all suv's are purchased to bury it to the doors in mud or drive over boulders.

in conclusion, I respect the out of the box capabilities of the jeep and am looking forward to having it next to my "turd "in the garage

After umpteen years and numerous hummer bashing threads, we should all jump on the "I love em" bus?

I don't see where I said that at all, but if that's how you wish to perceive my post have at it. Some things never change around here, especially the narrow mindedness.

Not a problem at all... like i said i was just interested in the reasons and responses that i would get.

Nothing personal was levied (except one or two about making up for other things with my H2) That's sophomoric but what ever

This is a jeep forum and i am done with this thread... Lets talk jeeps and forget about my dirty little secret

Good night

Yeah, i didn't mean the yukon validation thing against you and i shouldn't have said that. I was attempting to convey why I disagree with calling the H2 a hummer.

No, my dad never had any interest in AM General, but he always told me about their capabilities, design, and what separated them from a typical truck. I'd be equally upset if Dodge sold the Viper trademark to Hyundai and put that name on a redesigned Genesis coupe. Humvee's and Vipers were the first vehicles I really liked as a kid. They're just sentimental to me and this is the first time i've had the opportunity to articulate my thoughts on the subject. Which is the exact reason i've joined this forum.

On another note, I find your writing and jokes entertaining and look forward to reading more posts from you. Again, im sorry i made that dumb comment, and i'd be lying if i said i never thought an H2 looked bada$$ or had great towing/hauling/utility capabilities. Back to Jeeps, although i love this topic...

Although I dont like hummers I never actually hated them. I just hate big trucks and suvs. And I dont automatically hate everybody that drives one, but just the ones that have no business in one. My point is, in front of the convenience store, the guy in the f-3000 super duty extended cab extra wide work truck, with no work tools, has parked in a way that makes 3 spaces unusable for anyone else. Same with the blonde in the durango thats texting while shes changing lanes. If you can handle something that size and can drive it around and park it without hitting me then ive got no problem with you or what you drive or why you drive it. Sadly it seems that the most inconsiderate and or inexperienced drivers around here prefer very big vehicles.

I see people that drive small vehicles that park and drive just as bad. Makes me shake my head when I see a Honda Civic parked diagonal and too close/over the white line. Or even better watching someone fail repeatedly trying to parallel park their midgit mobile. I can park a full size truck better than most idiots out there can park their compacts.

Raiderfan, im sure you can and I agree that there is even less excuse for a compact. Thing is I dont even notice you unless youve taken up the last 3 spaces in a packed lot. Otherwise im a live and let live type. And obviously there are compact drivers that park just as bad but around here (Mississippi) big trucks are the norm and little eco-cars are a fairly rare exception. Oh and dont even mention parallel parking, everyone around here tries to nose into a spot and leaves their ass hanging out in the traffic, and theyre like wtf are you doin when I put on my blinker and drive past my spot then back in... and im like im parallel parking sorry you dont know how man but you shouldnt be riding my ass... I love how easy it is to parallel park in the jeep

When a small car is parked poorly, it doesn't usually hinder my ability to park in the spot next to it. When a larger vehicle is parked poorly, it is taking up multiple spots.
