My Dad moved to sonoma county California about 5 years ago.amd now hes got over one thousand bottles of wine and everytime I go out there all we do is hit up the wineries. Ive been to copolas, beringer, Kendal jackson, mondavi, Ferrari corrano, korbel, wilson. Very awesome thing to go do.

Find a good local wine shop and find their wine expert. The one that knows wine, that will freely talk wine, answer questions, etc and just start buying. Keep notes on what you buy, what you like and why, what you don't like and why and enjoy! A trip to Sanoma or Napa is always a plus!
