Well today was a big day for me. I went to go take the ASVAB and I did very good in my opinion at least. I got a 73! Navy here I come! I can't wait and am way to excited....although the girlfriend is not but oh well I'll be back from bootcamp for a bit when. And eventually when i get leave.
I remember my days in Navy Boot Camp (1969) - oh boy.. the Great Lakes Training Center was pretty dang cold in January & February.
Best of luck and thank you for your service!

I was a damage controlman and loved what I did but also envied many of the other jobs other guys had. Take your time deciding your path there's lots to pick from.

Thanks for you willingness to serve. Boot Camp will be just basic's,
the Fleet Navy will be a lot better than Boot Camp. DC (Damage Controlman)
and HT (Hull Technician) are both sea going rates that teach welding. Also the
Sea Bees will teach you constuction trades. Try to get a "A" school after Boot Camp.
It's a specialized school for what ever rate you get. Again Thanks for serving.
