You mean you actually do care?

For the past several months, Chris and I have been wading through VA red tape. We were seemingly at our whits end when Chris wrote his Senator and his Congressman. Well color me shocked, over the past several weeks he's been in close contact with both, and my letter to another Congressman was answered in the form of a phone call this afternoon.

I'm tickled honestly. I really am. Maybe it's just that it's an election year, but they really do care, regardless of motivation. And to those who know the particulars..... they told us we were right on track with the measures we'd taken.

Faith restored is a beautiful thing.

I'm not in the know, but would like to offer my congratulations. My parents and I had to fight the government for 3 and a half years to get my father's disability... so if it's anything like that, keep at it.

After 6 years of battle, my father just this year, recieved his disability from VA. I know how hard of a time this can be.

You know, I'm just really amazed to see how these congressmen have gotten involved. The whole VA thing was assumed because red tape is a fact of life, but Chris has gotten several calls. Just when you get most frustrated thinking our system is flawed beyond repair this sort of thing comes along. It's a good time to have a little faith restored. Feels good honestly.

I never in a million years thought that Senators or congressman would get involved on such an individual level.

They are a rear bread!

Although he is no longer a A US Senator he has been in the news a whole lot lately; my Buddy Phil Gramm (a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited Owner) is the real deal.

I have no doubt he was genuinely concerned about his constituency.

While I was selling him his Jeep and this deal went on for several months Phil, Wendy I got to have a lot of wonderful conversations. They are wonderful people!

Oh and BTW: IMO Phil Gramms' comments about "We have become a nation of winers" was right on track! Not to sure that John McCain should have backed up so quickly. There is nothing wrong with calling them like you see them.

I hate to do this, but this one is important:

Phil Gramm said "We have become a nation of whiners"

And yes, Phil Gramm is a great man, we need more like him in this country.

Yes, i agree, we have become a nation of whiners, and I guess that's why tiny and I found it so amazing when the Congressmen and Senators actually returned our calls. Having to weed through all the crap they get in correspondence or email must be quite daunting. However, I'm sure they have either a program and or team of folks that keep an eye out for "hot button" issues.

I guess, in a way, I became a little whiny throughout this ordeal, but dammit, my very existence was on the line.

It's not like I was complaining about second hand smoke or anything.

I think that there is a big difference between the whiners that Phil Gramm was refferring to and the men and women who have put themselves in harms way for their country.

And there is a big difference between the people who want free health care for their gay lover's poodle and the people who the government has found easier to ignore than deal with. I don't think you are whining. I see it as you are fighting to get what was promised to you the day you signed your enlistment papers. And in doing so, you are also making it easier for those that follow.

I hope things continue to go well for you Mr. Cain, and as always, if there is anything I can do to help, let me know...

I wasn't sure of the meaning so I google'd it. You can get hits for everything even "toute suite".

Toot Sweet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Origin of the expression:

The English expression toot sweet derives from the French phrase tout de suite (which means "immediately"). It first appears in English after the First World War, when, according to Mavens' Word of the Day, "many French words and expressions were borrowed by English-speaking soldiers."
