That's the plan.
If we hit to much that's not passable. We Will readdress it.

Thanks for the Photos

I would have loved to have made it and met ya'all but I discovered I have an exhaust issue that needs to be addressed. I guess I should have dusted off the rig sooner.

So it looks like Chuck is the only one having problems.
Yep had fun even though we didn't make it all the way up. The ice added some new challenges and the mud puddles were fun splashing around in.
Looking like snow again this week so it's gonna slow down trail openings. AGAIN.
We need the moisture but I sure wish it was rain from now on.

I was going up hill and came up on a TJ coming down hill that had their passenger side wheels stuck in that 2' deep ice rut and their driver's side wheels off the road on the down-hill side. Was getting out my recovery gear to winch the guy out and a Cherokee came up behind me and said the'd just go around both of us and yank him out from behind. She got about 100 yards past the guy where there's that sharp turn to the right (now filled with logs, rocks, and branches) and ended up busting her front axel before even having and chance to try and yank out the first guy.

Anyway, it turned into a total C.F., instead of wheeling I spent about 5 hours on that 100 yard stretch of the trail before we finally got the first guy in the TJ and the gal in the Cherokee out of there. Looks like you guys has a much better time on Sunday.

We ran into a guy in a truck that was telling us about all that while we were waiting for a Cherokee to get out of that rut. He said it was getting dark by the time you all got done.

Well done

Was it a skinny guy in a Ford all chained-up? I actually towed him out of an ice hole that had swallowed his rear driver's side wheel which left him high-centered on his rear differential.

I don't think he would have had any problem getting out on his own eventually but it had been a long day already and like he said it was getting dark. He started pulling out a hi-lift and a set of chains so I offered to yank him out with a tow strap so he didn't have to spend the next 30 minutes getting himself out. As everyone was loading up to get out of there I noticed he was still chaining up anyway and said he was gonna keep on going up the trail. I guess he must have made it ok if you saw him the next day.

Yeah it was a very long day and the really f'd up part was that the guy in the TJ who I initially stopped to help was also the first guy we managed to get unstuck. As soon as he was able to drive down the trail he just bailed, didn't even bother to stay and help the rest of us extract the gal in the Cherokee who busted her axel trying to help him out in the first place. I'm pretty sure he didn't even bother to thank anyone for bailing him out. That's ok, I believe in Karma. Next time maybe he won't be so fortunate to have people happen along (and bust their axel) trying to help him out, would have really sucked to spend the night out there especially considering he had his doors off.

So how far past that spot with the huge ice ruts did you guys make it on Sunday?

Yep that was him.

To bad that the first guy bailed. Sounds like he was just a guy in a jeep and not a Jeeper. Nice work on the recovery.
We made it almost to the split about half way up but the snow just kept getting deeper so we all decided to call it and turn back. Had a blast though. No damage and only one tug.
Plan on trying it again in a few weeks.

You think there's any chance of making it any further this weekend? I know we're picking up a few more inches of snow today but it was warm and sunny Monday and Tuesday and I believe it's supposed to warm right back up starting tomorrow afternoon.

I'd be down for giving it a shot (preferably Saturday but Sunday would work too) if anyone else is game to run it this weekend. It's always fun to run in the snow where there's no risk of falling off a 200' high shelf road. Worst case scenario, you spend more time than preferred winching.
