Blanca Peak Sat & Sun

Couple of us are going to do Blanca Peak this weekend. Go up to the Lake Saturday morning, camp, come down Sunday morning.
We are going to drive down to Walsenburg area get a hotel room Friday night, then head to the trailhead Saturday morning. I'll have more specifics by the end of the day.

This is NOT an EASY trail!!! Please be realistic in both your capabilities and your rigs when deciding to join. Here's Trail Damage link to the trail.

enjoy and be careful! Wish I could make it to help out. If you have any questions on it before you go ask away. Very rewarding and challenging trail. You'll love it.

Jaws 3.
It has a bypass, but if you're going to do The bypass on a trail like Blanca you have no business on Blanca!

We're still putting pics and videos together...more to come!

Nice! Wish I could have made it. That trail has so many unnamed obstacles too, its a thrill ride nearly the whole time. Glad you finally had a chance to run it John. I know you've been wanting to for a long time.

Pics/video look great. I think I waved at you guys sunday afternoon right near the sand dunes while you guys were airing up/down. I was driving my wifes subaru we went to see the sand dunes and spent time in creed and alamosa. Pretty country.

Thanks Brian...it would have been great if you could have joined us, rain check! it's funny watching the hikers turn around at the sound of the Jeep coming up the trail. Their looks are priceless!!
It feels great to do a trail that the majority of people simply won't attempt because of its reputation. Definitely doing it again and camping at the summit is an absolute! The rocks are so slippery when wet, combine that with the water coming down the trail and the mud holes in the trees, the trail difficulty changes so fast it's keeps you on your toes!!

Yeah that was most likely us, there were only 3 other rigs up there and they were staying another night. A lot of cool people up there, talked a couple guys that hiked up it in just TWO HOURS! Crazy!
