I have the Uniden Bearcat 880, and am very happy with it. The Cobras are also very good but bulkier and more difficult to install. That's why I switched to the Uniden.

Hi John, thanks for the info. What else would I need to complete the set up? I'm thinking coaxial cable, antenna (firestick?) CB mount, antenna mount. Anything else you can think of?

Thanks again

I went with a Firestik SS-3H Heavy duty spring and a Firestik R-1A quick disconnect. I am happy with both and all came recommended from this forum.

Let me know if you have any questions. Hope the above helps. It is what I run...works, tunes easy, and a whole setup around $120ish. I have a SWR meter when you wanna tune it. I'd go with a linger antenna before I'd go shorter...IMO.
CB comes with a basic mount, you'll need an antenna mount too. My tire carrier has it built in.

Thanks John, this is a tremendous help!! I'll probably place this order in August sometime. I'll attempt to install everything myself. (I did my KC lights, I'm thinking I can do this). I may take you up on the tuning part, but I may also just bit the bullet and get the SWR tuner also. Oh, one more thing, does the CB come with the wiring for power to the battery?

If I remember the CB came with pigtails, I wired in a fuse and went straight to the battery, found a ground in the cab.

There is a good video on youtube on how a guy mounted his CB and ran his coaxial and power in his JK.
