Chit chat and damage thread

Chad, good to see you Saturday. What did you do to your tie rod? John (sfrubicon) got the rock krawler set up on his Tj few weeks back.. The thing is a beast of a hunk o metal.

hahahaha funny you should ask....I have been waiting to upgrade and bent the snot out of it again. looking hard at the Currie set-up. Just not sure about the Hiem style joints.
oh ya did a number on it...again.
also jacked up the Control arm brackets pretty good. found a good little spot to screw everything up at once....nothing a 10# sledge won't fix.

John seems to be very happy with the hiem joints on his. Says it increased the steering feel

I talked with him about that. he said that the only thing is you get a little clicking sometimes. The Currie just gets such good reviews it's hard to not give them a shot.

I've been looking at the currie system to beef up my steering to try and fight dw and try to lift back up higher. Think the tougher metal and beefed up tres would do it?

I can't say enough good things about the currie system. I was really surprised about how much the on-road performance increased.

hopefully by the end of the week I will have my front axle done. ordered RCVs and new balljoints

Well, moose knuckles (drew) got his rig back from tanner this week I think. May run penrose saturday. John and I are on the fence about doing it in our rigs but we may run passenger with drew.
