I've gone ahead and decided to sell my car. Looking for a mid to long term project for me and my boys and I want a scrambler. What can I say? It's the original unlimited ;-) rust free body and frame a must. Doesn't need to run, I've got some pretty ambitious plans for it. Although if it's in "okay" condition I might grab a running one just to tool around in while parts pile up. I would appreciate any leads. Thanks

They are scarce as hen's teeth around here Brian. I know, I've looked

I'll keep my eye out. You can find some pretty primo stuff up here. I know where there used to be one but I don't know if it's still there or if they'd sell it. I'll look into it.

Would make a really fine buggy

Yea, they are pretty hard to find. Although I saw this one in BV

It's a bit more than I was looking for. More complete too since I am looking at a complete new suspension and axle setup but I should be able to sell off some parts. We'll see. Looks pretty good

Yeah, you could have a lot of fun with that rig without changing much of anything

Ouch on the price though, you'd be looking at a swap for your Mustang

Pretty much, I sent him an email seeing if he'd be interested in a trade. it would be pretty set for the mean time. I've got some wild plans though that will be getting rid of most of what's on it though. But at least I should be able to unload parts from it pretty easy.

Thing is, it's not that big of a deal to stretch a 5 or a 7. Probably better for an offroad rig because you wouldn't have the overhang of a 6 or 8. Just a thought...

Yea, I want the longer body though for gear and a back seat. Besides, once I comp cut the rear and throw 40s on it'll be alright lol.

There was one hanging around a gas station over by Tanner 4x4 this summer. Had a sale sign in the window, who knows if it is still there. Ed is right tho, they are rare and will fetch a premium. `

A guy in Peyton has an old scout, but he won't sell it to me. It just sits there year after year.

I did see an old Comanche on the way home from work today, had a for sale sign on it.

There's a guy down the street from me has a '55 Belair hardtop, also scarce as hens teeth. Won't sell that either

I did a stint delivering propane a few years back. I don't know what's in these farmers heads, but there is stuff out there that they would rather let rot than to see leave the farm. I use to drive away from some places almost in tears.

No kidding. When I'm just wandering around up here I see some of the most amazing stuff just stuck out by the barn, sometimes up to it's axles in mud.

If you take 285 down between Roswell and Carlsbad, there are some old junkyards that are a street rodders dream come true. I swear that some of them don't have anything newer in them than about 1950.
