Colorado guys/girls i need some help

Here's the deal I'm moving to Greeley next year with cuz I'm transferring to UNC and a friend an I decided that we are gonna make a beer pong table out of beer bottle caps. So if you all could start collecting them and then I can pick them up some time that would be awesome. When I was doing the math i need like 2000 (approx) I have about 500 already. So if anyone would like to help me in the cause of making this table that would be great.

Epoxy would be bad ass but heavy im sure. Pretty cool as long as you dont want it to be portable lol.

I will save them for ya. I'm in Evans so we may have to get together sometime to pop some caps off. Not much of a beer pong player but do like to have a beer and relax

Each bottle cap will have a little pocket of air trapped underneath so be sure that you have them secured somehow when you pour your material as they will float out of position and become a giant mess.

I honestly think I might just chew pieces of gym and stick them on the gum or super glue/hot glue them down

Lol 2000 pieces of gum is quite a workout.

You may try to weigh them down with a small stack of pennies/dimes or at least use the coins as a place to put the glue. I cant imagine hot glue or super glue around the edge of the bottle cap looking very good and with all this effort youre gonna want it as nice as possible.

As with any craft, i highly recommend doing a small practice run before you commit to the full table.

Good luck!

Never really thought about it that way haha! That's a lot of gum

And yea I think I'm gonna prolly do a sample of different top coatings to see what have the best bounce and durability.

Oh frat houses...

We turned the lids upside down (top facing down) to address the air issues. Then epoxy them. We opted to have the lids on the surface to make bounce shots harder and worth more. If some bounced you you had to do a row run.

Unless youre like me and would want (need) all the bottlecaps aligned perfectly lol.

We gave up after the floating away fiasco and made one out of wood then painted it. Good ole college try!

How about this idea. Glue down all the caps you need, then lay a piece of clear plexiglass over them and screw it down along the sides. It makes it less messy and a lot more lightwieght. Just a thought. good luck, and I'm sure it's gonna look great! Let me know how I can get these caps to you.

Where can you even get plexiglass? And is it pricey?

Alright guys so I went and did some pricing on stuff I needed today. And let's just say... Fack... Haha but I'm still trying to make this table. I might go around and try to find a older wooden table from a flee market or something. My less someone has something on here and they want to sell for cheap.

As for the caps I was thinking maybe a meet and greet in the next few weeks. Just let me know if your interested.

Anyone have any ideas for a cheap way to "glue" the caps down. I found a plastic table for cheap. I'm just not sure how to secure the caps. Thought about using hot glue but idk how well that will stay
