Not trying to be insensitive about it but forrest fires are not really a bad thing... It's a shame when houses/cabins burn but these fires are burning a large amount of dead trees that were not cleared after that beetle killed them. So in the long run its probably better for the forest.

Yes this Is a valid point. But at the same time you loose a lot of healthy trees.

This would be a conversation that would take a while to get through so I will abstain from comment. But for the most part I agree. however it does go alot deeper than that.

Alright so this isn't gonna turn into a rant/argument thread and if it does I'm closing it an I'm going to just invite certain people. Which I don't want to do but like Ed said a while back "it's weird not having topher cracking the whip." and I will do it. I don't want to but I will. I personally would like a bunch of people to go. The more people the more money.. The more money the more trees. And ATM Colorado could use some trees.

So now that Iv said that lets get back on track.

I am new to the forums, that said I would be interested in joining this event. My schedule is extremely busy though (I am an OTR 18 wheeler). at present, don't quite yet own a jeep(but will in about 7 weeks). I was curious when the propane event took place, hadn't heard about it.

Alright sounds good were still not sure about the date yet on when we are going. And the propane thing would have happened like three days ago

So the springer fire is almost completely out. thanks to all the fire fighters that contributed their time to put it out!

But now there's another fire on the front range. Not sure how big it is or what caused it. I just saw the smoke about 5 minutes ago on my way home... My vote on the fire is that someone was trying to make there farts explode and cought a tree on fire.... People are dumb enough to tdy

Yeah, saw the smoke all the way up here in southern Denver. Was out and saw what looked like a dirty white cloud, but hugging the ground. I told my wife that it looks like there was another fire. Hearing now that there is a fire between manitou springs and woodland park over by Rampart Range road. The road is closed on rampart range between Woodland Park and Garden of the Gods.

I heard they had caught a guy they thought set the fire around Lake George but apparently let him go...not the guy. Maybe if they catch these morons setting the fires they can just parachute them into the middle of the fires sans parachutes.

everyone needs to be super careful when enjoying the wilderness this year.

Oh, you haven't heard the latest? As if we don't have enough problems we now have an arsonist or group of them running all over Teller county starting fires. For the last few days they have been setting like half a dozen fires each day...

It is pretty much understood that if any of the locals catch them they will never be found... Way too easy to make a body disappear up here...
