but yeah, this is my dd as well...love it, especially how clean it is for a 99 lol.
Just gonna take some money here n there! The lift took quite a chunk out of my wallet...all said n done was a little over 1300. Not a bad price for a lift and tires as well as install but i'm not one of those rich kids haha.
So how old are you???
I'm planning the same...my jeep will be paid off in a little over 2 yrs so i figure maybe pick somethin up i can tear the motor out of, put a 350 in, and build it up with a long arm, ford 8.8's n 36's or somethin. Thats a big maybe though because i should prolly look into the house thing haha. I'm 24...
you got me by a few years im only 17. and yes im sure your prolly thinking. great some immature teenager, but i act like an adult most the time. iv lived a adult life for the last year and a few months.
and you got it for 1300... wtf my tires alone were 1250. for the lift i was lucky enough to have one on the jeep when i got it. pretty much stole it from the guy. it was listed for 14500 got it for 7400.
Nah, wasnt thinkin anything about you being younger...no need to explain though
Hell yeah you stole it from him...definitely a good pick up!
I just moved here from Iowa, which is why i bought my wrangler (one of my dream cars) and you have to go miles and miles to find a clean wrangler. Plus, they go for insane amounts of cash haha.
My 1999 2.5L 4cyl had 63k on it and was bone stock...listed at the dealer for 13,500 and i got mine out the door at 9k which in iowa is still a hell of a deal.
If i could have found a clean, manual, red 4.0L i would have gone that route, but the busted up 120,000 mile plus 4.0's were goin around 16-17 which theres no way i could justify
and yeah, i got a decent deal haha...got the 3" lift shipped for 460 and picked up my tires delievered for 655. Then paid a friend 200 bucks to put the lift on, align it, do an oil change while it was up, and the mount/balance.
i was actualy about to ask how long ago u moved here. my wrangler had 68k when i bought it its now up to 77 which isnt bad for having it since i was 15. its a 4 liter inline six.
so i got i hell of a deal. i love knowing friends that work at auto shops.
1. huge discounts
2. a place to work on your jeep with all the tools you need
exactly...the friend of mine works at Pro Jeep which helps out haha. I also know the parts counter manager which is a plus as well!
Thats a definite deal, man...you dont drive much btw lol.
mine had 63k on it when i bought it about 6 months ago and just turned over 71k. My first vehicle (1996 Chevy blazer) i got in 2001 when i was 15 with 41k on it and sold it when i was 18 with 99,980 miles on it haha.
I dont drive as much as i used to but i also split time with the jeep and ride my motorcycle every now and then...heres a random pic i took in iowa
Bought it in august of 2006 with 300 miles on it and now have 24k
I warn you now, if you get a bike...you'll definitely lose out on all mods for the jeep because mods for the bike are just as addictive and cost half the price as the jeep mods haha
you'll snap out of that soon haha...as long as you maintain the vehicle, it should be driven. I'll never own a garage queen.
since 15, heres how my vehicles have gone:
Blazer: had 41k sold at 100k = 59k
Tour SVT: had 35k sold at 99k = 64k
Honda civic winter car/dd after the svt: Had 140k sold at 225k = 85k
Bike: had 300 still goin at 24k = 23.5k and still goin
Jeep: had 63k now at 71k = 8k in 6 months lol
So, since 15 on just my vehicles i've driven about 240,000 miles
You bought it to enjoy it...just drive it n forget the miles lol. Just maintain it and it'll keep on goin!
holy crap thats alot of driving.
im trying to keep the miles down on my jeep cuz i have it paid off so i want it to last a while so i dont have to worry about a 4 wheel drive car for a while. i might buy an old saturn or somthing and put a new motor in it so buy it for about 2500 and use it as my dd. it gets about 26 to a gallon
haha, yeah my last car was like that...wasnt fun at all!
With the bike its a goal to see how many miles i can put on it and with the jeep, its just another number...i leave it on my trip all the time and dont even pay attention to the miles. You'll enjoy it much better without tryin to mile count lol
just have fun with it and drive it...
I might bring another buddy with on sunday if thats cool with you...he doesnt have anything special, just an Xterra, but hes married and doesnt go out much so figured i'd invite him. Hes my manager at the bank (i'm the assistant)
