Jager, Personally the stock skid system on jeeps is a lot stronger than you would think. If you have an auto, a heavy duty trans pan is a must. The only aftermarket skids on my jeep are an EVO proteck kit which is oil pan and transmission, other than that, the stock stuff is holding up just fine. I have a stock evap skid which I believe the earlier jks are without. May want to look into that. Bumpers, I believe in minimal front, a nice shorty stinger with winch mount will be fine, you dont have a swaybar disconnect motor to worry about bashing the crap out of.

Things that will come out of nowhere when doing a long travel LCG lift. (mattr doesnt have a bunch of travel.... yet) Driveshafts, plan on replacing both, here is the catch, you will have to replace them again when you go to dana 60s. Bonus, you can easily sell them when you do. When you set up for a ton of travel but keep it low bumpstops become very very important because you are running the shocks almost 3/4s compressed at ride height, so bottoming your suspension out becomes an issue. Instead of blingy bumpers and what not, you now have some extra money to get some hydraulic or air bumps. Not cheap but worth it. As far as rear bumpers go, I hate mine, since I added 140lbs of wheel and tire to it.. Planning on ditching the bumper all together and just putting D rings on it and going with a tire carrier that mounts to the body armor like EVO or something of that nature.

And when he says I dont have a lot of travel he means exactly what a stock JK would have... when I am disconnected my front drive shaft rubs at full flex. I havn't torn the boot off the drive shaft yet only because the minimal flex I have but there is still scuff marks where it rubs. Dan has told me several times I need new ones but I am cheap and will drive it until they break... I saw Dan completely shread his our second time out

Ya, I ran stock drive shafts for a time. When I took them off they where completely useless.

Alright, I've done some cost cutting on the front bumper and winch, and I've dropped the rear bumper completely from the list for the time being. I took a look at some of the air bumps, mostly the EVOs. They seem like a solid idea but they aren't cheap that's for sure. If you go with that is it a requirement to go front and rear? Or can you just go with a conventional bumpstop in the rear for the time being. Seems like the front would be more important being it's carrying a lot more weight then the rear.
Dan, you mentioned that you went with 4" shocks on the 3.5 spring right? was that because you were compressing until you bottomed out? This is essentially a LCOG type build so I can see where trying to get the most drop/flex yet maintaining a good ride can be a pretty fine balance.

Tera Flex JK Tuned Fox Racing Shocks 4 inch - 6 inch Lift, Aluminum Body, Set 4 (1980500)
these are the shocks I have on my jeep. I have my suspension set to use every inch of travel they offer.
Tera Flex JK Wrangler JK SpeedBump 3 inch lift - set of 4 (1958300)
These are the bumpstops I use. very easy to install.

Now, I will be completely re-doing my entire set up in the next few months. I am going to go to the next level of stupidity. I cant help it, I have an illness.
coilover and triple bypass setups front and rear with longarms. yes, I know, absurd.. I am after a goal... I will meet my goal, as I know it can be done.

haha, I bet you never thought those $20 off road race tickets at RAM were going to cost you so much huh?

Thanks for the input. I think I've got a pretty decently educated plan. Just need to pull the trigger before I change my mind.
