And like I told cballou is his thread, the owner and lead mechanic are great guys and are very knowledgable when it comes to Jeeps. I was there on a slow day and both of them came over and we talked Jeeps and they gave me some help installing my skid plates and didn't charge me anything extra.

There's one. But not sure if the guy has a lift or not. Its more like a garage with jacks and jack stands. Look it up on Google maps. Its down by Rudy's BBQ

Thanks Chuck. I'll definitely need a hand for stuff like lifts. Like you provide the hand and I'll constantly make sure there's beer and pizza in it haha.

It went better than I expected! The only issue now is that I'm having drive line vibrations. I want to do a TC case drop but I have 2 stuck bolts so I can't get it off to lower it. I was hoping with a 2.5 inch lift it would be ok but in the end it was close to 3.5 inches. I will try to post picture but the app for my tablet has not been cooperating. If they don't work below I will try posting a link to a public album in a few.

If you have any ideas on what to do about the vibes/ transfercase I'm all ears.

The roller skate looks great! Don't worry too much about the vibes. If its on acceleration its probably the pinion angle. Spray some pb on the stuck bolts and let's drop that t-case. It should fix it but of not, no worry... Just plan on a sye/CV conversion down the road. My girlfriend has the same problem with hers. Just gotta get some big meats under those fenders now too! Oh and those springs should settle after a while :-)

Haha, yeah it looks a little goofy with the smaller tires but they still have some good life left so I'm going to leave 'em till they wear out then upgrade when I replace.

Just for reference do here is what my driveline looks like:

Yup, that little bit of angle on the pinion will end up causing vibration.

Well in that case I think I am going to try a MML. I would like to take the easy(er) way out and do the TC drop but I just don't see how without some serious help! About a year ago I tried to remove the skid plate to change my fluids, in the process the center bolt on each side just spun in place. I really wanted to remedy this myself so I bought an angle grinder and tried to grind the head off of one of the bolts. Well due to the shape of the bolt this didn't work. Now I have a flat bolt on one side and a spinning bolt on the other. I have tried drilling the flat (ground) bolt out but that failed miserably too. Now there is about 1/4" of a drill bit broken off in side the bolt. I really don't know how to approach the skid plate at this point. I really hope adding a MML reduces the angle enough to eliminate the vibes.

Use PB Blaster twice a day for 2-3 days and let it soak in. Then use a propane torch to heat up the bolt heads for 15-30 seconds and hopefully you can break them free without spinning the nutserts. I was paranoid about snapping bolts off the first time I dropped my skid and the above worked for me.

Installing just a MML seems a bit of a pain to me, so I opted for integrated 1" replacement mounts from Brown Dog. They're excellent and they have great customer service.

FYI - Although I've got a SYE planned down the road, my combination of 1" Brown Dog Mounts and 6 washers on each of the skid bolts has worked great for me; no vibes, and I've got 4.5" of lit. Been running this setup for some time.
I think I'm the minority in that regard as some people with 2" require an SYE...

Remember anytime you grind or use a torch to do it in a WELL VENTILATED AREA! Make sure your gas tank is FULL...gas vapor is far more volatile than liquid gas. Have a fire extinguisher close by and ready to use! Sometimes we get so focused on the task at hand a forget the potential for injury... Ok off my soapbox.
