One of my Friday classes got canceled and I'm done for the day at noon. Just wondering if anyone is interested. I don't have any particular trail in mind but i live in Colorado springs so i was thinking some trail/s around woodland-park/divide possibly further. Any one is welcome, and I would greatly appreciate trail suggestions even if you can't come.
Im running 33" duratracs on 3" total lift, ive got 4.56 gears and a rear ox locker in it. Sway bar discos, rock sliders and a winch. BigGreenMachine if your interested it looks like your jeep could handle anything mine could plus some more.
TrailDamage.com - Hackett Gulch this trial right, I've never done it, but it looks like fun to me. Thanks for the suggestion Oldguy. I guess if anyone is coming just let me know and we can come up with a meeting place.
Ya i wasn't planning on going alone, and that would be awesome if you want to run it with me. If you know any good meeting places around Florissant/Divide depending on where your coming from.
I certainly enjoyed it and I think the Dans did too. Went cross country to get to the trail and that was a beautiful run all by itself. Some shifts in Hackett, the slab was nice and clean, the ledge following it was more dug out but not bad and widowmaker had leveled out so that wasn't too bad. And someone finally shoved that stupid Suburban wreck off the trail and over the hill. The river was down, you could see the sandbars again. Screwed around too long and had to work our way out in the dark. All in all a very nice run.
Just wanted to say thanks for letting me join in with you guys. I had a great time and enjoyed the fantastic scenery along the way. It was quite amazing to see the burn area and how some parts are coming back.
That ledge is nasty. Your line, approach and departure have to be dead on or you're going to have trouble at best or a roll at worst. It's called widow maker for a very legitimate reason. You really didn't miss all that much because you are already very close to the river and there really isn't all that much room there. Metbury is the best for enjoying the river and is a fun trail to boot. When you get to the river it's like a park down there and has a beautiful sand beach.
Awesome trail had a great time. I'll go with you guys anytime. Iv'e usually got a free afternoon during the week If your ever just itching to go on a trail run.
