Anyone know of any good camping spots near running water or a lake in the BV area?

Are you looking for a campground? There's one by the old bridge On the Ark I believe. Otherwise Grizzly lake. Nice jeep rd up to it and pretty secluded.
I'm BV Jeep can give you ten places.

I'm not 100% sure but the melt in the mtns has been insane in the last 5 days. Peaks looked like winter last Saturday and summer by Thursday. BV was already ahead of us in that respect too. And I'm pretty sure I saw someone post a pic on FB from grizzly lake this week. Send BV Jerp a pm he'll know for sure.

I also do not know if you can get to Grizzly lake. You can call the St Elmo general store and ask them. They are the best ones to ask. There is also the Cottonwood lake area. The higher you go the less the people. There is a lake called Ptarmigan lake. The turn off is about 5 1/2 miles past Cottonwood lake. There is some running water up there and the lake is about a 3/4 mile hike. The area around St Elmo has a lot of areas to camp but there are a lot of people in the area. For the most part these 2 areas are the best areas to go.

I went this saturday, went to Mount Antero was able to drive up to about 13000 feet and turned around. Not a lot of snow but some big snow drifts. Camped near Baldwin Lake.

I think I saw you too drive by. Sunday I also went to the entrance of grizly lake but the 1st obstacle had gotten pretty high and my jeep was loaded so could not clear my rear control arms on that wall. it was kind of late too so I had to come back to the springs. i'm planning to go back at the end of the month to go up grizly and try mt antero again
