we tried some of the high passes around Ouray and Telluride last week. still to early and many are still snowed in. Nice thing about Colorado though there are still many beautiful lower elevation roads available for our enjoyment. Keep your eyes open, we saw many elk last week...enjoy your trip

Thanks Saras ya it was a blast but it did start snowing when we first got up there. but by the time we finished up most of the snow melted and made for some good mud.

Hey if you guys are trying to go sometime again soon let me know I live in littleton, I went out to Rampart Range last weekend just me and a few friends in my jeep and had some fun back there, but to go with people who know some good trails already would be better than wandering around the mountains alone

It's really nice out down below, so it makes us itchy to get to the high country.

But:

The last big rain storm last week closed, or kept closed a lot of the forest roads. Double check before you head out, either at the ranger stations, or here.

The upper stuff is almost all still closed. And remember, a shelf road with a snowbank on it can make anyone pucker enough to suck in their seat covers.
